You feel for Nick because if he was playing with West Coast or St Kilda -- how much better a player would he look?" he said.

Chris Judd gets tagged harder week in, week out but still manages to get his hands on the footy.

Everytime Nick seems to get tagged by a close checking player, he just can't seem to touch the footy, or even get near it. If you want to get paid the big bucks, then you have to perform week in and week out. IMO I don't think he works or runs hard enough to shake off the tag and his teammates should be providing blocks.
It pissed me off when that little turd Baker ran off him and kicked a couple of goals.

It's generally accepted that Judd receives a fair few blocks from his team mates in games when he receives a hard tag.

If you watch West Coast they have some set plays to screen players so Judd gets the footy..Denis needs to provide Nick Stevens with some plays so he gets the screens and blocks that he needs....dont agree he isnt working hard...he is very frustrated..
You have to remember that at port Stevens was a outside player who had Carr, Francou and James giving him the ball...with us he has to do eveything...in and under, create and finish....too much workload..especially with Kouta doing less these days...

Just don't expect Houlihandbag to do it. Too much body contact.

Averaging 28 touches per game this season ....... Hmmmmm !!!!

The guys one of the few QUALITY players we've got. He doesn't deserve the crap comments that we TCer's direct at him !! He gets non stop belted by the opposition each time we play, and is seldom out of our best 5.

We are very fortunate he fell into our laps !!!

To be fair to Stevo, this is the quality of mid-field help he receives each week. Little wonder he's knackered and battered by the end of the day.

Bannister
Bentick
Blackwell
Davies
Koutoufides
Murphy
Prendergast
Scotland
Simpson
Walker
Smith
Russell
Sporn
Chambers

They're either babies or hacks, basically (or our captain :( ).

Judd has a supporting cast of Kerr, Cousins, Fletcher, Braun, Embley etc. Who do we have? Stevens gets tagged by 2 players and spends 99% of the game on the ground. Judd doesn't.

22 atm. Not sure where the 28 came from. That would make him #1 in the AFL as only one player is averaging that (Goodwin).

Do Kerr, Cousins, Fletcher, Braun, Embley cover for him when his opponant is kicking goals and getting his team off to a flyer?

Possessions mean @#$%&! all these days. It's about effectiveness.

Seldom out of our best 5? He would be lucky to have made it INTO our best five more than once.

And I don't mean "Best Five" in the herald sun, where they get some work experience kid to list the top 5 possession winners, in order, from both sides under the Best heading.

Stevens shouldn't be sticking himself on the back of the square on the half back line awaiting an easy kick.

There seems to be this idea that Nick Stevens fell into our lap for nothing.

He didn't!

He costs us ~$450k a year!

If that's nothing, then I'm an obstetrician.

So while no player deserves "crap comments" TCers direct at them, ever player should feel accountable to every member, and those that get paid more should realistically be expected to deliver more.

If they're not, they're going to be put under the microscope.

Stevens is not delivering anywhere near what he's delivered in the past
couple of years with much the same around him.

And members are pulling him up on it.

Stevo's the first to admit he's been under achieving .... doesn't mean he needs an Obstetrician!!

So he gets paid $450K ..... has he been worth less since he came to the club?? We got him because Port wouldn't accept Wobbles offer at the trade table. He cost us nothing but his Wage. I still think we did well!!

And thanks for the "good oil" on the Journalists that give the media votes each week. "Work experience kids" ..... I would never have guessed.

Hmmm not quite sure what you're saying there Uncle John.

You've started to make several points but kind of fell away before they were made.

So Stevens admits he's down on form? Great! It's pretty tough for him to argue otherwise...

Hard gig for Stevo with Campo gone, Kouta struggling, Simpson in the backline and Carrazzo on and off the bench.
