Your concept, BrizzyBlue, is pretty good except for one fundamental flaw.... You over-estimate interstate fans propensity to watch football that doesn't include the 'home' side. Your number of ex-pat Victorians in SEQ is a nice stat, but how many are Carlton supporters? How many are die-hard AFL fans that would watch ANYONE?
When TV games were first shown in SEQ, we were the most shown due to our drawing power and onfield success at that time. Carlton almost became the unofficial SEQ pet team. I evidence this by games that we have played up here since the Commonwealth Games Exhibition game. Our support at Carrara and Gabba games far exceed any other visiting club. In fact in that rotten losing Qualifying Final at the Gabba in 96, we had almost equal support to the Yogi's. I believe we were the club that they played against when the ground record was smashed in 98/99 (not certain of season) before the ground upgrade and beat that again when the capacity was lifted. Make no mistake we are extremely popular up here. I would go as far as saying more popular than the Pies or Bombers.

I like the idea that you put forward, but I think that your three Gabba 'Home' games needs to include Brisbane and the other two need to include other Victorian teams.
I'll pick two from the Dome list.... St Kilda and Melbourne
Also, you need to be thinking about futher seasons as well - I don't think you can keep playing the same 7 clubs twice in one year...
I still reckon we could get by by playing the Interstaters. Why give the Brions a free kick by playing them? They already have 12 games at the Gabba now. By playing the Aints or Dees, that would just mean less games in Melbourne though.
I have been working on a draw spread over 5/6 seasons to balance things out a bit. It's looking pretty good ATM. I think we could sell it to the AFL. Same concept, but just what they would consider to be a fairer draw for all concerned.
