Have to agree that GA comes across as rather inward. He is a classic doer on the field but very quiet and retiring off it.

I also have my doubts as to how he would work with Pagan now.

My "must gets" are Voss and Mark Harvey.

What's with the fascination with Voss?

Yes, he's a Brownlow medallist, triple premiership player blah blah, but can he coach?

I'm with Kermit, Voss is a must. A pure leader on the field, in the Leigh Matthews mould. A great talker and oozes class and respect.

Not overly sure about Mark Harvey, been in the system a long time aka Garry O'Donnell and has not been snapped up.

What about Paul Williams??

Archer only because he's respected and never took a backwards step in his career, and would give the kids someone to look up to and emulate...

But you're right about him and Pagan working together - might not work out.

But Voss seems really switched on and was a Carlton supporter as a lad - he knows how good we were and how good we could be in the future.

my vote is for Guy "Bluey" McKenna (if we can't get Voss) - imagine the marketing we could do !

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned Peter Jonas as a possible assistant. He's been instrumental in Sydney's rise up the ladder, and would do a great job developing our young list.

Hudson, O'Donell, Ratten, Longmire et all would also be great investments by the club.

What about Ken Sheldon - have to admit Id prefer him as a senior coach. He knows the culture of the past and should be far enough removed from the players unless his son is drafted.

Glen Archer would be more a do as I did rather than what I say. I still think he'd have something to offer.

Others I like are Longmire, Rehn and Voss.

Would be great to get someone who has played/coached under a winning club.

I'm really just posting here to avoid TalkingStuff :-D

I'm on the Voss bandwagon as well.

good call on Peter Jonas. He has good history at three successful clubs at two levels. He coached Central districts in SANFL to a premiership, worked with Malcolm Blight during the premiership years at Adelaide and of course up in Sydney with Roos. I also think he had a stint as SA u18's coach or atleast was involved in junior development at state level.

Here is a choice from left field in mentoring role, particularly skills and some tactical nouse and that's Michael Nunan. Yeah I know laugh it up etc, but the former coach of Fitzroy, North Adelaide is very knowledgeable in many areas and would some similar philisophies to Neil Craig. If it's thinking mans game tactics you want then you could do worse. I'm not saying as an assistant but rather a part time mentor etc.

David Noble at the crows is an excellent coach. Did a couple of years at the bulldogs under Wallace, then coached Glenelg in Adelaide. He is the Crows forward line coach and is doing a great job with limited talent. Would be much better than Daniher.

It's not always the big names and best players who make the best coaches.

What is it about the job Daniher is doing you don't like?

Thats his fault? Half his forwards are the responsibility of the backs coach and the 1 player he is definitely responsible for was leading the goalkicking before last weeks game..

Perhaps he'd do a little better if he had his players back and the otehr coaches would get him the ball a little more often and with better delivery.

Our forwardline is definitely not the problem this year.

For what its worth.

Steve Malaxos, handy player, unlucky to miss a senior gig with the Swans a few years back now, but still in the system and someone i think has something to offer.

Shaun Rhen, do i need to say much more. I will anyway and say yes please.

Alister Lynch, we tried to get him as a player and never succeeded but maybe we could get him now. His life as a footballer with Highs and lows could well respected and well informed.

But thats me for now , and i'm still a favourite of K. Sheldon .... :-D :-D

Jason Cripps?... Justin Murphys old mate....wonder if the Cripper is sentimental value only after all his injuries or he does have some coaching abilities.

I am starting think divine intervention could be the only way..maybe Shaun Hart could add a religious flavour to the coaching setup....get some culture into the club.....Iwouldnt mind seeing Voss and Chris Scott as assistants..dont see either tolerating poor training etc...

jason crips was spying on our friday training session before our game against the saints, taking notes and looking through some binoculars.
