The 2006 Carlton Guernsey Club Presentation Dinner was a real highlight for the Carlton Player sponsors as it gave them an opportunity to sit down with their sponsored player for a relaxed chat. Held at the Crown Palladium all players and the coaching staff were in attendance at what was a very relaxed evening highlighted by player interviews and a football quiz that had everyone guessing.

He is only costing $1,000,000 a season for a few soft possessions per game

Carlton 2012: Lets remind them why they once feared the Dark.

I hope Kouta knows his finished.

I reckon he finished on the wing in the 2001 semi against Richmond.

A very dark day

He's been playing for 13 years, that means he's cost us $13,000,000. What a prick!

Yeah, he was shit last year wasn't he................that's why they gave him the B&F.
And the year before that when he only played 11 games, yet finished 7th on in the B&F.
And who could forget how shit he was in 2003 when he only got 2nd in the B&F. HOW DARE HE!

Should have retired in 2001.

That's $4,000,000 down the drain. We must have the most lax salary cap in the league.

It is hard to watch football turn into a money game verbs.

I think we have a lot in common on an ethical level.

I can't beleive some of the people posting here. Kouta has done many things for the club, and on many occassions has effectively been the team. I still recall the game against the kanga's at Optus, which for me, was the most dominant display by a player I have ever seen. I can't recall stats, dates or years at the drop of a hat, but this guy is a legend.

Kouta is passed his best. This will be his last year. He will take home around 1 mil this year. The problem is ?????

He has been a a great player for many years and is reaping the benefits now. He wasn't paid the mega bucks at the peak of his career, but now, albeit having to be watered down somewhat and back ended. Players future contracts are invariably based on past performances. Here is our captain who signed a long term contract for a "justifiable" amount of money some time ago only to be re-negotiated to a lower fee to assist the club.

Once the contract was signed, he didn't need to re-negotiate at his detrement. If you were offered a position in an organisation and signed a contract for a specifiec some of money and then you were forced to reduce it, would you?

Is he worth 1 mil at the moment ? No way. Hardly anyone is worth that amount of money in my eyes. For all we know, he could have just got 200K for the last 2 years and the windfall this year. Unlikely, but we don't know. For many years, he has been the face of Carlton and has earn't his dues.

In relation to his Carlton will be a powerhouse, the reference was that this is something the the young players have to look forward to. He recalled the bad years of 91 and 92 when Carlton were struggling and recalled how great the feeling was around the club when we were a powerfull winning team. He likened the current situation and feelings to his early begginings and that the player group had a lot to look forward to, as when we become a powerhouse in the future, the buzz and excitement around the club is amazing and this is also attributed because we are Carlton.

Kouta is the least of our worries. I fail to see how Kouta's low possession count is our problem, given the AMAZING talent he has around him.
