I blame Pagan... he should have recruited better staff in the years before he was at the club, and he should have been getting some kids in there during the holidays and after school... he's killing this club...

I reckon Ratts could run the shop.

Maybe a one year contract.

Oh - and all you tight-arsed bogans waiting for the shop to have a sale?

That $40 scarf you just bought for $10 on sale actually cost the club money. It's reduced to below cost to clear because no-one's buying it during the rest of the year.

Go and offer to buy it at full price and then tell me about how you're supporting the club.

You know who you are...

Smartarse

Oh & I was only on my way there as I had an annual leave day & the time to do it - if I wanted a scarf I would've knitted it myself (to save cash  )

Funnily enough when I got to the shop yesterday (at about 2ish) there was a back in 5 minutes sign!!

Went for a walk for about 15 & came back & it was still shut

It opened shortly after. The guy was helpful & friendly, did a good job of almost convincing me to buy a DVD actually.

Actually it wasn't you I was thinking of but well spotted...

Actually, if the item is sold at al loss, it could be argued that it actually saves the club money (back me up any accountants/money nerds if I'm right). The Club gets a deduction on the expenditure of the item, then when it's not sold, or sold at a loss, the cost to the club can be claimed as a capital loss, and when you add the deduction for the price, plus the capital loss, it could potentially add up to more than the profit margin....

Bravo. :-D

Is this site NOT an appropriate place for supporters to voice the concerns (on mass) about the current coaching philosophies?
Why the cheap shots?
If the reason is the number of concerns voiced here, well maybe the masses have a point.

I never questioned your credibility on commenting about the subject of "retail" I was just establishing my own credentials. I'll do the eyeball rolling thanks.

Can i raise a point please.
I also watch out for the swans, mainly because when I first went there Sydney was my first port of call and also Tadhg.

I emailed swans and blues & asked about each clubs mags, you know, for fans.
So far Swans have sent me two mags and also have emailed me letting me know they would value me taking out an international membership and that if I got down I would be looked after by the club for the game I went to.

Carlton = ZIP, nothing at all, the only mag i have got is from my ol mate the ninja.

This to me is small, a 1%er, as I may be to the club, but ... if you look after the pennies, the pounds will look after themselves.

What do ye think.

Pagan has no control of the membership/marketing department so the 1%ers aren't up to scratch. :-D

PS: I have a long list of 1%ers that Carlton do not do, some i've sent emails to the club about but have never received a response on. Nothing new.

You should be like us. Peddle drugs from your shop and you'll be able to provide a mobile number for 24 hours service.

Yours is bigger than mine, mine's bigger than yours...blah blah blah...

The issue is the Carlton Shop which I walk passed at least twice a day and there's no way an extra staff member can be justified in an empty shop.

***BUMP***

Carlton Shop in Faraday Street - closed today (16th August 2006)

Obviously a bit more than a 10 minute toilet break today GWS.
