Simmo ran hard and created

Fev also ran hard and created ...and delivered ...again

Walks busted a gut again

Murphy is a deadset STAR.Would love to see him tear it up in a good midfield.

Simmo ran hard and created all day.

Wiggo had another good game even i must admit.

Only other positive (I think) is there is a mid season review of the list, and who we will play for the last 8 weeks.

Thought Thornton played well on Tredrea.

Murph, Walks, Simmo, Whits, Fev and Wiggo all played well.

Forget the individual performances, I'm just glad the team came out in the second half and still tried their best and were good enough to win the half on the scoreboard.

Given that Tredrea normally kills us,Thornton's effort was first class!

Once again the 7 goal opening quarter to Port did the team in. They did well to rope the margin back, but you'd have to ask whether Port were looking to the week after.

Positive: When my two year old spewed in the car on the way to the ground, none of it got on the car seat.

negative: The fact that it went all over his Carlton jumper told me we were in for a bad day.

Positives - we had a dip, didn't really flood open game, in that situation Port's class was always going to kill us but at least we were able to play some attacking footy. Hate to sound like DP but skill errors kill us. We need a lot of different players to be really competitive.
Fev kicked 5 and would kick a ton in a decent side - amazed WCE didn't really go after him last season, he'd win them a flag, but glad he's at the Blues.

I thought Wiggo was okay

Thornton really good

Murphy classy

Simmo good, glad he's been told to run, but maybe not play on every time

We badly need a classy ruckmen, some classy midfielders and some real runners out of defence, and need to look forward sometimes, let forward options go begging by constantly looking across the ground.

Not sure if Livo will be there next year but the coach certainly does him no favours. We were always going to lose, just leave him on, put him up forward try to let him get some confidence, just give him a chance.

Murphy was good..attacks the footy well and knows how to use it.

Simpson...good running and nice left foot disposal

Fev...played with some attitude and without him we would be struggling to post a decent score...

Thornton....did the job on Tredrae and has shored up his place after a down period..

Walker....always tries hard and is getting smarter with each game

Special mention to Simon Wiggins who has bulked up a little and is taking some chances, being more positive and backing himself more.
Took some good grabs and tried hard....disposal wasnt too bad..needs to be careful not to sell other players into trouble when attempting to move the ball on quickly but otherwise he was good and worth perservering with. I wouldnt have him in the delist group based on his last couple of weeks form...

Thornton was probably our only player to convincingly beat his man all day.

Fevola yet again a great performance in a poor team effort.

Murphy is already our no 1 on-baller.

Simmo never gives up.

Eddie Betts - bloody well leave him on the ground and in the forward line Denis!! He creates goals, is just our best set shot, causes turnovers (for US not them) and makes the opposition backmen doubt themselves. He doesn't need 25 touches per game. Can his team mates stop curcifying him though by not kicking to him on one-out marking contests with guys 50cm taller than him?

I am convinced Wiggins is a new man.

It was also good to see McLaren come in and give one of the Port players a heavy side on bump in the contest that left him feeling worse for wear.

Murphy - class and poise so he definitely isn't as good as Ryder and Thomas. ;)

Walker - getting better with each game and will be better if his teammates actually blocked for him or kick to him when he's in the open.

Teague - kept trying, put his body on the line and that's more than you can say for his teammates that can kick.

Thornton - started badly but kept Tredrea quiet

Fev - 5 goals from approx. as many chances.

Wiggins - busts his guts unlike the shirker who wears the 33 jumper

Juzz you watch the game did you see Teague hit one player with a kick..

4-5 of his disposals resulted in turnovers and Port Rebounds that resulted in Goals

The only positive for Teagues is to put him in the Ressies neva to play a Senior game in the Blues again.

He may have hit one target but in general his spot should be give to Russell or someone else end of story

Its a positives thread I know .. but I agree with Wolfy...Teague is brave but he is finished as a senior player in todays modern running game...Russell is the future...Teagues kicking is poor and I think Nathan Lonie showed what is required of todays modern Half back when he kicked that running goal...
