I think you're the one struggling for an idea. No clue at all. You're a dreamer. You can't seem to work out where the real problem is. Run out who we like next year, if we still have Pagan as coach it will be like shuffling deck-chairs on the Titanic. List-wise, forward-line is great, when they're not injured, midfield is ok when they're not played as defenders, defence needs some work. If the players don't play with any committment doesn't matter who plays, we'll probably lose nearly every game like we did under Walls in 1989 when he lost the players.

To me, change the coach as quickly as possible. Can't believe people voted to keep Pagan on in this poll. They really must get off on losing, or at least really great gluttons for punishment.

It's easy to make the coach the scapegoat isn't it. There are a number of people who should be made accountable for our current plight, like our recruitment staff who have brought duds to the list.

So Jim, if Mitchell becomes coach and loses 10 on the trot, do we get rid of him too??

sorry jim but i think your the one who's struggling for an idea yes our list has improved over the past 3 years but all the improvement has come from teenagers. reality is teenagers cant really have a massive impact on the outcome of a game but in 3, 4 years time when all of them are in their early 20's then we should be judging pagan.

could not have said it better myself...... when will people understand that we have no depth at all.

thats whats wrong with Carlton supporters some how we manage to create this buzz about certant players that are not warranted example Justin Davies

Did you ever stop to consider that much of barry Mitchells relative success is because of the cattle he is given by Carlton recruiting efforts. Both talented younsters and guys that are terrific reserves players but not quite AFL standard. Think about it. One D. Pagan surely has a lot of sway in all this so perhaps he is not quite so useless as some people would like to think. Just for a minute imagine him coaching with say an Adelaide or West Coast list. Then figure this. Our list improves as the Bullants improve......but sadly not overnight. If we had the sort of list I just mentioned and we still were at the bottom then I would join the get Pagan bandwagon. In the meantime anti Paganites use your head and not your heart.

Pagan needs to finish his 3 years.

Next year we get Michael Voss as an assistant and when Pagan is finished his 3 years, Michael Voss will be the coach of Carlton.

SB,

I voted to keep him because it asked whether he should be replaced at mid season. I agree Pagan is not the coach for us but I was thinking were the hell is the money going to come from to pay him out?
The people whose intelligence I would question would be those that voted to get rid of him mid season. Unless they can tell me how we can afford to pay him out whilst our incompetent board begs the AFL for money? Care to enlighten me SB?

The question you have to ask yourself is how much is it costing the club in keeping him , every loss , every time he selects Longmuir ahead of Kennedy every time Russel doesn't get picked every time Blackwell and Carrazzo get dropped and replaced with Teague and Bannister another 2000-3000 people drop off and dont go to the footy or by a membership . If we had of got rid of him last year like I have been suggesting the clubs finances would be much better of than the 1-1.5 million it would have taken them to pay him out . If the money is not there now there will be less at the end of the year because people will stop going .

You have to look at the big pitcure woof find the money , tap him on the shoulder and get rid of him and I bet you would recover that plus more by the end of the year

Why would you even start this poll? Seriously? Just really proves how much of a supporter you really are.

No way should we change coach mid season. If we do, we are a lower team than I thought. Every week some coach is under pressure and they have to face the same shit that Pagan seems to be doind week after week. Like this week, Thompson moving Mooney to the back. Stupid and now he's job is on the line?

Barry Mitchell is a great coach for the young guys. That's why he works with the Bullants. I listened to him on Saturday and he was so calm with them and he throws in the odd joke. The young guys respect him.

Just like the older guys respect Pagan. Though they don't show it half the time, they still respect him. You don't say "Pagan has to go" when we lose alot of games, think of Sheedy.

I voted no. Reason is, you don't switch coaches mid year. It's just stupid. Maybe what needs to happen is Barry could give em a bit of a train during the week. But he does not need to take over as coach.

Sydney did it with Paul Roos and look what happened to them

PS Rodney Eade was supposed to have the respect of his players then to

Sydney is funded by the AFL, we are in the process of being funded by the AFL. Once the AFL deal is completed do it but only at the end of a season 8)

So I gather you think that if the Swans had of kept Eade they still would have won the flag because they get more money do you. It had nothing to do with the players attitude towards Roos or Roos coaching methods it was all to do with salary cap concessions .

Is that what you are trying to say are you Eddie

Yep, I can see the logic. Let's say I am a 22 to 23 year old player who hasn't set the world on fire. Then I get a chance in the seniors. I could go and try my guts out to show that I am capable at AFL level. Then, maybe someone else would be interested in me, or I could continue playing with the Blues for over $100K a year. But no - I have a stroke of genius  How about playing like a dud? That way, I don't have to play under Pagan, and can play under Mitchell in the VFL. I can even play in a VFL premiership. Sure, it will cost me $2,200 in match payments each week, but what the hell. Over 4 years, this sneaky campaign by a bunch of strugglers might even see Pagan unseated. Oh joy :-D Pity then that I won't get a chance to play under the new coach, because London to a brick the Board will demand that the new coach plays the young recruits. And with the upcoming superdraft, it's almost inevitable that I'll be delisted. But that's when my plan really blossoms. I tell all the recruiting managers that I was tanking because I didn't want the coach. I'm sure that there'll be plenty of clubs willing to take a chance on an apparently dud player from a bottom team who deliberately plays under his best if he feels like it. It worked well with LA, Karl, Cupido and Begley, so it should work for me too.

Now, of the senior boys, I can't see how many of them could be playing all that much better. Fev and Lance are having great years. Barney is in the wars but trying, and the same with Lappin. Scotland is playing well. Kouta is on last legs.

And the youngsters just want to play regardless. They haven't had a major opportunity, and I doubt if they'd tank to change the coach.

Yep, we'd be absolute champions if only they'd change the coach
You think what we have have served up in the last 4 years has been committed. You honestly think there is real passion and work output out there. Even Mike Sheahan said that a couple of weeks ago. Surely no-one can be that blind as not to see that. What have you been watching over the last 4 years. Beaten my more than 10 goals 20 times in 76 games, and lucky it wasn't 21. That's less than 1 in 4. No list at AFL is ever that bad, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a stupid as anyone imaginable. I'd look in the mirror if I were you and roll your eyes at yourself.

Do I have to say this slowly to some of the nuff nuffs on here. We've had 4 years of no progress as a team, beaten by more than 10 goals in less than 1 in every 4 times since Pagan's arrival and you think i have no idea. Other teams have kids and have kicked on, our side has gone no-where. No even an improvement on last year as a team. Little passion, little committment, poor workout. What part of that don't people understand. Does a meteor have to drop out of the sky and hit you before some people wake up. You "blind fools" are laughable. Unbelievable!
