Jars give me the stats on people refuting stats that don't back up their arguments versus those accepting stats that do back up their arguments. 8)

Just curious

If player X has been getting 4 stats/game (ie 1st year player) and then he gets 6 stats/game next year (natural progression) - does that equal a +50% ranking?

Also perhaps another informative stat to go with the above would be average stats/ranking points per team pre and post pagan - I'm pretty sure that the overall stats (throughout the league) has gone up since 2002. Especially stats that are rated higher (ie marks)

If you are going to base your thoughts on me on misinformation then that says a lot about you. If you are as concerned as you make out send me a PM and ask me a few questions.

Here is some toilet paper to clean up your chin.

In terms of playing senior games, 14 players on Carlton's list have only ever played senior games under Pagan. Another 9 players are yet to play a senior game (that includes 5 rookies).

Chambers, Longmuir, Davies, Livingston, Saddington, Sporn.

Kouta and Whitnall (only just) after very good early career form.

Yes to the first question.

Absolutely with respect to the second question, although the numbers here would be tempered somwhat by the low-possession style of game Pagan employed during 2003-2005.

These numbers only serve as a point of discussion as with all stats there are some broad things that can be taken out of it but there are still plenty of flaws. It would have been great to be able to calculate the rating per minute of game time because some of the increases cited in the figures above are mainly due to players getting more time on the ground per game, i.e. Fevola.

So 11 have improved and 8 have gone backward.

Too true.

This is a bit of smoke and mirrors fun from Jarusa.
This thread is based on average statistical data.

Our average disposal statistics this year are within 3% of 2000.
In 2000 we won about 15 straight.
In 2006, we'll be lucky to win 2 in a row. :?

Effectiveness, our data compared to our opponents, statistical comparison of the AFL in general over that timeframe, none of those are factored in.

Move along citizens.

(BTW Jar, when you're stooping this low to find positives for Pagan, even you must be concerned)

You understand me well BV, always have.

My thinking WRT Pagan is along much the same line as dannyboy's, so yes in reality we are not that far apart.

I'm just putting it out there for people to discuss. With these things sometimes I just put it out there without any of my own commentary initially to let people make their own impressions, good or bad.

I know guys like you and Synbad will pick it apart and that is good, I respect that and like it when people actually go to the trouble of thinking through the good and bad points about a particular set of stats.

If I can prompt a BV one liner I am even happier. That cricket one was a ripper and gave me a fantastic laugh.

I think some observers take our by-play the wrong way sometimes. I really follow the Dilbert Principle on here, the only people I engage with seriously are those I respect.

hard to gauge much in these stats, need to know how many games they played prior to Pagans arrival, eg if only 20 games before and 60 after could make a huge difference.
