The guy thats letting the whole thing down in my opinion is Kouta.

Not his fault he's injured, not his fault the club plays injured players. Like Fev last year the club are killing him.

He's the Captain of our club.

If he's playing injured, playing substandard and hindering the development of a player like Kennedy, Russell or O'Hailpin then he needs to do the right thing by the club and his teammates and stand out of the team for however long it takes to get his body right.

Had the same argument with just about everyone here last year about Fev but the fact is Fev was just as useless as Kouta is at the moment and the club gets nothing out of playing them.

FWIW The Game I think you are dead right about Fev.

There is no benefit whatsoever in playing injured players. It's not like there is a question of percentage keeping us out of the finals or anything.

He is just useless not injured... no injury can turn a 6ft 4 105 kilo captain invisible when we need leadership.

If he is that injured... he should retire so we can give Smith a crack.

His shoulder is f$%^ed, he can't even get in there at the clearances which has been his whole game the last 3 years.

I'm just as big a Fev fan as you Synbad but he limped through the last 2 months of footy last year. Should not of been on the park considering we were on the bottom of the ladder.

Didnt know his shoulder would stop him from getting intoa jog.

Stats are very misleading, Scotland has had some outstanding games this year and had some shockers but in both cases still racking up the possessions. The game against Collingwood where i think he had 30 possessions plus and kicked the ball to Collingwood players half the time. But he has been the main man in both our victories this season and yesterday was brilliant.

i think he's in our top 5 best players but his statsheet makes him look a lot better than what he is. he gets a few cheap disposals but often his decision making lets him down and i think every disposal that gets turned over shouldnt count as a disposal.

His tackling is pretty pathetic, soft as butter, don't know why some of our coaching staff doesn't make him do more tackling drills to improve this area.

I haven't really rated his season.... especially not top-3 material. I think his posession count should be halved because he is one of the main instigators of the "run-past-for-a-handball-even-when-there's-nothing-on upfield-and-i've-got-no-awareness-of-where-my-direct-opponent-is brigade".

Not all bad mind you. Winners want the ball and you can see he is keen, but 'good' players go missing when 'great' players step up a level.

Can't agree with you Crusader. If you are going to half his possession talley for 'receives' then you have to acknowledge the other half. Scotland wears a bump often. He puts his head over the ball often. He's a solid player who who stands up for the Blues and tries his guts out often. I find it staggering the amount of grief some supporters aim at him when he has an off day considering players like Prenda and Kouta and even Lappin are not pulling their weight.

Scotland deserves his spot and deserves more credit. IMO, his output will only get better as our young boys step up.

I can't see how people are not happy with his season? I think some of you are incredibly harsh markers. I reckon he's probably had 1 maybe 2 "bad" games for the season. In most of the others he has been in our best players for mine which is why I started this thread. I can't believe he gets no credit. Yes possessions aren't everything and yes they can be misleading but fair dinkum I'd rather someone get the ball than not. You can't go much better than first in the league for kicks and third for disposals or whatever it is. He's a better player than some of those mentioned in the media this season but for some reason he doesn't get any attention. I guarantee Heath would hold his own in a good side. As I said since about the second half of last season until now I reckon you can count his bad games on one hand and if you were to look at everyone's last 20 matches, I think Heath would be in the top 3 and deserves more credit.

Funny how alot of these threads get to Kouta and his (lack of) apparent passion. Synbad I'm with you here, he should retire.

Scotland has been good this year, would be interested to see his effective kick % (anyone have this data at hand?)

People arent prepared to rate Scotland because we got him from Collingwood, and I htink that's crap.
If Russell or Bentick were continuously racking up the stats Scotto is, you'd all be orgasming.

I have liked Scotty's efforts this year. Sure he has a lot of areas to improve on, but so do all of our players. He is definitely in our top 5 at the moment.
