An extra 8 kilo's will do no harm jimmae. Infact it will give him even more confidence.

The trick is putting the weight on at an even rate so that you don't cause stress related problems below the waist..

Great when allowed on the field. He's a great size and pace for the modern game which begs the question why we haven't given him more games in the 1's to help him a) settle his nerves and b) focus his kicking.

I don't think he was mentaly prepared so they took the conservative aproach, like Simmo. Great work as there is no use throwing them in when there is still a fair bit of work to go. Good things take time.

You seriously trying to justify his 5 minute games?

Only disappointment was that he didn't get a little bit more time. But it was more than he usually gets. Let's hope they persist with him.

Not trying to justify it, just don't know the situation intimately and that's what seems to make sense to me. Give him a taste bit by bit.. JR might of had issues and therfore been very fragile.

Whatever the case he was very good in his gametime yesterday and I'm relieved as a result.

I'm sure that Pete Best would like to argue the point!

Simmo only had 5 minute games in 2003. Look where he's at now. :-D

Admittedly, he only played because we had no-one else, but...

I thought he did well and is suited to the modern game ....8 kilos would be handy on his frame just to allow him to make and break some tackles and become more than than just a running half back.
His attitude was impressive early on when he said he wanted to help new draftees settle in....along with players like Marc Murphy we are getting some mature young blokes into the club and I hope Jordan Russell continues to improve...plaudits to Wayne Hughes for ignoring Chris Egan and choosing JR.....
