Borto, along with Wow Jones gave us lots of mongrel. Mark Lee was a talented ruckman who thought he was tough. Wow was a battler who really was tough, and gave Lee a bath and Borto did the same for Cloke.

Absolutely correct gerry, (apologies for the mutual self admiration society (almost a bit like Brettie and Blackwell  ).

But your absolutely right gerry atric - Wow Jones' contribution in intimidating Lee out of this game is very underated - great effort by Wow and instrumental in us winning the game as it allowed Fitzpatrick to play at Centre Half Forward.

Came to the Blues from Geelong and was played mainly in the back pocket against the resting ruckmen and although he didn't play a lot of games he always did the job asked of him. Not overly burdened with pace but very willing to put his body on the line Mario played a key role in the back pocket in two flags. IIRC was mainly picked for certain tasks against specific players.

In the 1982 Grand Final was told that if any fighting started to make sure that Cloke or Lee didn't come in. According to Mario that was his main direction for the game. The fight started and Mario grabbed Cloke in a wrestle.

Did not get a lot of possessions in either Grand Final but then again neither did his opponents.

In 1982 the Tigers had three century goal kickers on their list at the time with Michael Roach Brian Taylor and Mark Jackson all topping the goal kicking in the Seniors reserves and under 19's. In the post mortem of the game a lot of commentators felt that the Tigers erred in not selecting Taylor.

Any sons he has will not be eligible for the father son rule.

I just thought I'd add something.

Speaking of irrelevant posts , but yes I could do a Mike Sheahan and draw an extremely long bow and say that we would all like to have an unexpected financial windfall.

Bank Error in your favour collect $200.
