If Kouta announces his retirement for the end of the season, it raises a number of issues/possible concerns.

Scenario 1. - He announces his retirement and the boys go out and win some games for him.

Scenario 1. Result - We lose PP :(

Scenario 2. - He announces his retirement and his send off his shite because by season end, the young players are knackered.

Scenario 2. Result - A club champion and a champion of the AFL is sent off in dismal fashion. :?

Interesting stat... would McLaren be the only premiership player in the side full stop?

i didn't think McLaren got a gig in any of the 3 premierships?

He played in the losing one

I reckon the best possible scenario would be that he announces his retirement in the last week of the season and then we come out and flog the hell out of some team for his last game :-D

Just checked and its Sydney at the SCG... well we can TRY!

The injury comes at an inopportune time for the struggling Blues who had shown promising signs in recent weeks but will now have to search for their third win of the season without their inspirational captain.

Time for Lance to be Captian off the field. He is already Captaining them on the field.

Yes but it will be the second time in our history that we've had 5 Top 10 Draft Picks run out in Navy Blue for us... Walks, Russell, Murph, Livo, Kennedy... with the promise of more to come.

Gotta look forward guys...

Maybe, it really does mark a serious change for us though. We'll have to endure one of our longest droughts before we can savour in #17.

I agree with those suggesting Kouta should see the year out, but I'd suggest he has no playing future beyind this season.

I'll be more than happy for Essendon* to field the only Carlton premiership player this week.

Is Kouta's busted hand what Ryan Phelan was referring to when he said "Carlton's season just got a whole lot worse" in a promo for Sports Tonight?

His bank still thinks he is valuable.

Look, no offence to Kouta but a year is a long time in footy.
And after 5 shitty years we have little patience.
He should play one more game this year.. and thats the final game and retire gracefully.
