Why trade Fev when you can trade Murphy?
Murphy is just as likely to be injured as Fev.

Look... the one man to be traded is Lance.

Just not mobile...

I reckon the kids were great again today.
We have a real nucleus to build upon...

Im rapt with that!!!

PS Im almost to the point that im not joking here but Fev is just about captaincy material in our side.

Also Deluca - credit to him.. he looked like a real CHF tonight.

The negative is when Livo is dropped the balance suffers.

Yeh well i think next year as long as fev keeps this going... The leadership group should be Nick Stevens perhaps as captain... Matthew Lappin, Brendan Fevola and Lance Whitnall in the leadership group...

I think if Brendan kept his workrate and form going and keeps showing leadership... he would have to be the 2nd or 3rd choice as leader...

Nowadays, i'm loving Lance Whitnalls form and I believe he has been very important for us this year but I really don't know how he would go as Captain... I personally wouldnt want him to be captain...

There is Stevens who has the proffesionalism and respect from teammates and Fevola who is an absolute star and with the right application is a potential leader on status alone... But when I see Lance Whitnall i dont become inspired.. I just think he is a very smart footballer, but not the 'face' of our club...

Dont mean to be harsh on Whitnall but really he doesnt have the 'prescence'... Stevens would be my choice along with Fevola and Lappin for next year...

Blackers' goal was a very clever kick :)

Good for Deluca to kick his 3rd (after Tyrants said 'I will eat my own shit if he kicks this')

Laidley was on AW with high praise for us today. Said he was lost for words re Murphy's workrate & praised Russell & Simmo

I thought Simmo had a beauty & has been good all year.

Good news - despite him playing on i was still worried. Remember Lenny Hayes and I think Coughlan have both played on in games with ACL injuries...

Yeah I was worried too strangeblue and would have preferred them to rest him but I don't reckon Hayes or Coughlan would have been able to dob one from that far out.

The crowd reaction when Fevola came back out after half-time was priceless.

Kids, kids, kids! Great to see them having a real go.

And I was at a roos function last night and it was good to see them having a go at me for cheering my mighty Blues! Pisser!!

Told me to get out of the north area and go watch some soccer...

I remember seeing Fev hyperextend his knee even worse then that at one of last years intra-club matches and he was up and about next training session, so i wasn't too concerned about the extent of that injury

glad to hear the scans confirmed as much

synbad - why fev and not murphy? - mainly positional. I'd cop a weaker forward line if it meant we could build up the rest of the team quicker (midfield/back/ruck). If we get caned in the midfield then having the best FF in the comp (where I place fev atm) is useless to us.

why fev and not lance? - trade value. I'm pretty sure you have asked me a dozen times before and I've given the same answer everytime.

Its a thread for positives - lets at least try to keep it on topic. My comments werent a criticism of Fev - I was extremely concerned when he landed and very happy when it appeared he was ok. I just wouldnt have brought him back on.

Ok assuming its Fev..l who to and for what????

See.,.. the shit teams wont trade their EARLY oicks.. and the good teams have picks 13/14 on.. so what would we trade our ONLY marketable commodity for????

And only A grade footballer.

And only goal kicker....

Just to hold onto Lance....

Spit it out.. give me a realistic scenario.... and it better be a rip snorter cos the club will be left with a gaping hole....

been coveered many times before and you know it - do a thread search. Also it has never been trade fev at all costs - its be prepared to trade fev if the right deal comes along. Also has nothing to do with lance either.

Jordan Bannister deserves some credit......treated poorly by the MC for most of the season he showed his knockers he is better than most of his challengers for a backline position....took some good marks, ran off his men , gave us drive and attacked the footy well....he has earned his spot.
He is always the fall guy come a loss and unfairly but shouldnt be anymore....

Russell and Blackwell look like they belong.....Russell attacked the footy better than I have seen him and Blackwell is like his old man...in and under the packs with smart hands and a real soldier.....the Roos game was a loss but I call it a win for the future with the form of our youngsters....Murphy is a terrific player already and already in our top group of players....
Credit as well to Kade Simpson...keeps improving and is a class act

In deference to Synbad and No.1 blue, Lance's captaincy and direction was a huge positive and he does have "prescence". Amazing how nearly every thread turns into a trade lance or trade fev thread.

No.1, maybe invest in a spell checker!

My first 'real' post.

Sorry Synbad, but you don't have solutions - you have ideas and opinions (which are welcomed by many here), but they are not necessarily solutions.

The MC doesn't have all the answers either, but surely you can see that we are on the right path. Murphy / Blackwell / Kennedy / Russell / Simpson / Carazzo etc etc are all showing glimpses (except Murphy who is already playing at a consistently high level).

You yourself said in another thread that our kids are better than North's. Who's responsible for that? Recruiters? Coaching staff?...or you?

Maybe the MC and coaching staff have taken the right approach - develop the kids slowly and carefully. I for one, am confident that success is on its way.

We all get frustrated at losing, and some of the decisions that are made. We all have players that we believe aren't up to it that get played, and others that we believe need more opportunity. But for Christ's sake, this continual bagging of the coaching staff and the MC and claims that we have the answers is just bull****! If some of the posters on this site actually new half as much as they claim, they'd be coaching some kind of unbeatable AFL super team by now.

That is all.

Nah nah... keep going.... you make some very good points.
why stop???

(If you knew something about footy youd be an AFL coach of an nbeatable footy team) - now thats what i call a POST!!!

Keep it up.
Welcome to TC... ill look forward to more of your riveting posts. ...

Anyway... you stick to your opinions and me to mine ok????

:-D

We may have only won 2 games and be 15th but we do have:

The #1 goal kicker in the AFL: Fevola

The #1 mark in the AFL: Whitnall

The #3 disposals , #2 for kicks in the AFL: Scotland

that is our major problem. We can't cover the ordinary players.
We have had stages during games against the top sides where we have more then matched them. We just contain sustain it through the whole game because of these ordinary players. Its too hard to carry 5 or 6 passengers

Personally i reckon were losing cos we have a bigger mix of kids and they have smaller bodies and less experience.
But when they do fill out and have a few games under their belts your Russells/Blackwells etc will help us win games.
The leadership is terrible.. we have too many senior players playing in the slips hoping the ball doesnt edge and fly to them.
Fev is an exception.

When they all grow up become more confident and create a real leadership core.. teams like the Roos will be blown away.

Still a bit of talent shy to replace what we should have in the senior stakes.
