What do we know?

Positive:
* Brisbane decimated by injuries. Brown out is huge for us.
* Carlton looking good over last 2 weeks but struggling to close out the deal.
* Will Kennedy be back?
* Brisbanes defence outside of Michael is short and inexperienced. Could create chances for De Luca and Kennedy if he plays.

Negative:
* How long has it been since we have won interstate?
* Lions have shown very good form over the past 3 or 4 games after starting slowly
* Our main weapon may be a bit sluggish
* Still reliant on De Luca. as a forward as we have so many injuries in the forward line. he kicks 3 goals a game once every 3 years so we may not get much out of him.
* They're going to decapitate Murphy.

Key player:
* De Luca
* Bentick - need someone to win the hard ball
* Stevens - Murphy is going to cop it so he is pretty important
* McLaren - against his old team.

Fear:
* We lose, Bombers win, Carlton to the bottom.... AGAIN.

Tip:
* Lose by 5 goals

We gotta have a chance against these guys

Who do we drop/replace?

On form you'd get rid of McGrath and Teague...maybe even McLaren

But who would come in?? Kennedy's form deserves a game. O'halipan has been steady and needs a chance. Livo should be given a go - needs to prove his worth.

As for winning this week, well it would be nice to see Aker slag of Matthews again for whatever reason.

Just win for once Blues please and put some joy back into watching the footy:(

I only want us to win this game if Essendon* win on Fri night as I'd love to see the Bummers get the spoon.

Otherwise we are better off losing to help ensure we get the PP before the second round.

We are a strong chance considering Brown isn't playing. As long as we are competitive and players like Russell and Blackwell keep improving and get plenty of game time I'll be happy.

for me, the most exciting thing about this match is:

walker v. akermanis,

their duel last year was fantastic,

This year it'll be Aker tagging Walker.

I didnt see any mention of Fev. in any of the previous posts - he's listed to play so with him in and Brown out for the Lions, things are a lot more positive!

You'd have to say we were overdue for a win - it would be the understatement of the century!

Last round, both teams kicked 100 points AND lost. If that form holds, it could be a very entertaining night... (although not nearly as compelling as Sydney / Fremantle :evil: ).

Hope to see Blackwell, Bannister and Russell retained and given more time and bigger roles.

Murphy v Black and Walker v Aker (if they eventuate) should be crackers.

You'd think McLaren would be given a go against his hold club. Kennedy in for ???...

Apologies for my cynicism, but what are the chances of Livo coming in when there is no obvious match and Teague going out when there is?

Murph to iron out Chris Scott :-D.

After beating the Dees in round 1, i thought come this game, we would surely beat Brisbane for the first time since.....lost count (00?01)
Looks like a real tough assignment down there.
Advantages we have besides Fevs, IS WE DONT GET A PRIORITY DRAFT PICK THIS YEAR (i think i read the article correctly) meaning tanking is useless now as we`ll probably end up with the 2nd pick after the bummers anyway, and before the roos.
So lets get Captain Murphy and Co another win under their belts

Brissy cubs are awsm....ours are on the rise too :-D

Can anyone remember the last time we give the Lions a whipping? My memery tells me around 01, at PP, and they never lost another match that year, including the flag. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to confidently stride into the TAB and put a tenner on the Blues to win by 60+ :lol:

i think after we touched them up that year, they lost the next week, then won something like their next 20-odd games in a row.

Don't blame CG people, it's the way of the new world and deep down the club and many, many posters are also thinking this way. The difference is that CG says what he thinks.

Anyhow most know where I stand.
