When i visted the club late last year i tried to by both of these dvd's i also jumped online to the carlton shop and neither were available (not sure about now). One other person also asked about it, and 2 people phoned, all in the 5 minutes i was in the shop.

so i thought stuff it, if the club cant sell them too, then they wont be getting my money for them, i wanted the DVD's now!

so i thought rather than sports delivered getting all of my hard earned i jumped on to http://www.canberracarltonblues.com and went through the link, to ensure that atleast something Carlton got to benefit.

anyway i managed to pick the movies up from the post office last friday and watch the tribute DVD, then magic moments twice.

Both DVD were excellent and i'd encrouge any carlton fan to get them.
The tribute DVD was very well done and more like a documentary of the day rather than the history of the ground (although there was still abit of that). Even my none footy following girl friend enjoyed it and understands a bit more of my passion for the club.

There was a few things they could/should have cut out, like Sandra Sully proving that she doesn't know football from her elbow (and was obviosuly just there for the pretty face), and Andrew Startin trying to impersonate Sam Newman (fugged if i know why he was even there).

The magic moments DVD was sensational, and highlighted all our grand final wins since 68, plus legends of the club, plus some of the great marks and goals and imfamouse bust ups.

the Craig Braddley sections was pure joy!

Oh yeah, the Princes Park DVD is fantastic. Found it in a DJs when Chrissy shopping and didn't think once, let alone twice. Much nostalgia and ex-players (it's incredible how some of them look 20 years after they finished up) talking, plus the fan interviews and all...love it. The premiership cup parade was a pure highlight.

Would like the Magic Moments DVD though - is it CFC-centric, or AFL, like so many other ones?

It is definitely worth getting Magic Moments, Halford.

100% carlton material.

They have a section on each grand final, then they select certain players that have special highlight bits.

eg

BiG Nick
Doull
Ron Barassi - as a player. I hadn't seen much footage of him before, and there was one great play of his in a match against the Roys. He got out a quick handpass whilst under pressure to a player running into goal.

Jeza...
who else
Fitzpatrick
I didn't think Fevola deserved a place on it yet - but they had a section for him too.

Then a section on great marks and a rivalry section against Collingwood.

*bump*

You can now get the final game dvd for 1/2 price at Myer. Only just watched it last night for the first time & was wrapped to see my little 4yo boy starring at the final thursday night training session (the blonde boy with #4 on his back). Very good DVD, well produced with some very emotional moments.

Thanks Gez. These DVD's (and old games) are great to have around the house, particularly given the current climate.

... there was talk a while ago of someone putting together a 'Best Of' Kouta DVD? 99 Prelim, Rnd 5 (96), Rnds 8 & 11 (00), etc. Did that ever get off the ground? If so, could someone point me and my wallet in the right direction.
