Rest him. 8)
We want Fev playing, it's our only chance of winning something, the Coleman Medal. Not a believer in tanking until the last couple of matches, when it would then be silly to win and cost yourself a pick. Kids learn alot more trying to win and fitting into a plan, much better for the club in the long run.

Got that in one.

Play the kids to win. the chances are they won't, which won't hurt our opportunities in the draft.

But, I don't think it will hurt Fev's Coleman chances by resting him this week. He's got a lead on Hall, and if he plays at 75%, he might miss more matches down the track than one now.

surely they would have learnt their lesson by now, last year we let him play with that groin injury and he had a terrible 2nd half, had to miss the last few games and then had to have an interrupted pre-season because he had to have surgery. and he's never beaten mal michael anyway, for some reason mal seems to have it over him.

Exactly.

Rest him this week, and he'll be good to go against Geelong.

anyway this thread was meant to be about our chances of winning brisbane who are minus jonathon brown so if anyone has any thoughts about that you can say it. i actually like our chances a lot because we almost beat a judd-less west coast and brown has to be wc's equivalent of judd so i reckon we're a real show. once again, if we win we can be happy but if we lose we can still be happy knowing it'll do us good for the future.

According to rugged midfielder Brad Scott, the Lions need to find a way to win without their powerhouse to avoid being labelled a one-man team.

Despite coach Leigh Matthews' assurances on Monday that reliable full-back Mal Michael (ribs) would be right to play this week, concern remains after he was unable to complete training with the main group and finished the session with a series of run-throughs.

Scott spent the session running while defender Josh Drummond (quad) and midfielder Justin Sherman were restricted to light duties.

Adding interest to Saturday night's contest will be the maiden appearance at the Gabba of Blues' No.1 draft pick Marc Murphy, who resisted numerous attempts by the Lions to move north under the father-son rule in 2005.

Murph could be in for some attention.

They'll have to catch him first

i'm not sure but i think its copeland who loves to pick on his opponenet i remember when brett deledio played on him he said he'd never copped so many punches in his back in his life so dont be surprised if copeland picks up murph and selwood will pick up stevo coz he's beaten him the last few times we've played.

How sad for the once mighty Lions that they resort to punching the kids in the back.

awful news on browny looks like he could be out for the season with stress fractures in his back, he says that he wont be able to push up the ground and take 15 marks like a true CHF because his body wouldnt be able to hold up so he'll probably have to play out the rest of his career in the forward 50, i really am saddened by that because he could have been an absolute superstar CHF nd it was so good to watch him play the way he did. :(
