The tackle didn't get a mention on White Line Fever, and On The Couch they discussed it briefly as being unfortunate for Murphy.

That is all.

Does Silvagni commentate for Fox Footy?

I have no issue with who re-monstrated with Copeland - Simpson is in the leadership group and did what you would expect - age or otherwise.

It proved that his elevation to the group was warranted.

I knew someone would pick me up on that. I could hardly use KB or Leppa as an exageration to make my point, could I DUC

My point was..........why didn't the leadership group see the tackle 15 times in slo-mo and then see a close up of Murphy's face when grimmacing in pain. That's their job to annalyze every single tackle while the play is in progress and make a decision as to whether the injury will be season ending or whether it's a sprain or corky and act accordingly by remonstrating with the offending player while play goes on.

Surely we need a new leadership group  .

Aha. I knew it. I saw Malouf walking into Copeland's house with a brown paper bag last Friday. That explains it!!!!
those of you with short memories remember one Peter Dean - and what a dirty prick he could be on the field. And we loved him for it.
Dean a Dirty Prick on field??????????? Don't where you get that from. On what eveidence do you base this claim. I saw a lot of Peter Dean and I recall him as physically hard but fair. A dirty prick is someone that uses forearms and elbows etc. AND THAT WAS NOT PETER DEAN.

I don't reckon PD was dirty, but he didn't mind using the forearm - especially when he had that guard on?

Didn't we just change the leadership group? Which of those did you expect to remonstrate- Simpson, Lappin, Scotland, Stevens?

Just making the point that Murph is going to feel more than physical pain from the injury.

I'm not 'anti' anything. I just reckon it was poor that nobody stepped up. Maybe the boys need to get out on the piss together to get some bonding going.

It was a fair tackle.....i dont get what all the hubub is about....murph fell awkwardly when he was tackled aggressively like you would expect people to tackle in a contact sport.

The tackle was fair. So is a big hip and shoulder that knocks someone out if there is no contact to the head.
That's not the point.

The point is that if one of your young players cop a hit on the field you go in to bat for them. Fly the flag a bit and make sure it doesn't happen again. There is more to a team sport than possessions and goals.

It was a good tackle. But it was a driving tackle that didn't need to be made. Well within the rules. I'd love it if our blokes hit other teams like that.
THAT'S NOT THE POINT. The point is that nobody flew the flag. It's just pissweak.

Refresh my memory someone - who flew the flag when SOS was cannoned by Milburn?

To continue my points from page 1 & 2...

1. The tackle was fair.
2. Don't worry - Murph will still win the Rising Star.
3. He has one of the best body surfing techniques in the game.
4. When leading his opponent to the ball on a cold, wet day - Peter Dean used to flick his hand back as if part of his running action and flick his opponent underneath the scrotum.
5. If the coaching staff or players thought the tackle was 'not cricket'...then they should have turned to our Irish/Fijian recruit and stated "remember when you asked when the 'fookin' hitting started? Well - now's as good a time as any".
6. Setanta on Milburn this Saturday???

Sad but true, now that I think about it.

We decided to re-recruit Murphy straight after that from Geelong.
