yeah that was probably the biggest positive of the day to see him get 7 disposals and 1 mark, this has to be his last game for carlton we should have promoted a rookie and played him instead. no offence to sporny, because i know for a fact he is the most courageous player in our team (more than teaguey) and i know he is one of the hardest triers but he's just not good enough for afl.

Hmmm..those positives are coming a bit begrudgingly
at present. Can't say I really blame anyone.

I thought DeLuca was great - best game I've seen from him and the first I've really noticed of his reputed athleticism.

Russell, Blackwell, Kennedy and O'Hailpin all showed sufficient to suggest they will be important players of the future.

Carazzo's miracle goal (compared to his set shot from 15 m out!).

Fevola consistently breaking even in 3-1 contests.

Houlihan continues to get himself on the line.

Simmo continues to show leadership. And speaking of leadership, it was great to see Whits gather the boys around for a chat after the siren instead of all just straggling off. Have no idea what he said but surely it shows a more suitable leadership style for the young kids than Kouta shows.

Sporn, Bannister, French all showed they won't be here next year.

You're right about Sporn but I still think we should persist with Banno, he really wasn't that bad today. We have to keep French. McLaren hasn't shown a thing this year so they will probably keep French.

Why does everyone ove banno so much? he got 11 disposals and 2 marks today and it was one of his best games for the year, we should probably keep him on our list for 1 more year so that we arent too depleted in his position as a sort of defensive tagger but delist him at the end of next year unless he makes serious improvement. the positive of this post is that if he keeps playing the way he does hopefully common sense will prevail and we'll delist him at the end of next year.

If your that blind how do you manage to post on an internet forum? :?

what do you like about him? he couldnt get a game for Essendon*, he's got a great body but his football skills arent good enough. im not questioning how hard he trains or how hard he tries or how good a guy he is im just saying his football skills arent good enough for him to be playing afl football.

He runs and moves well but that's about it. Useless player.

Not surprising Michael............... disappointing.
He's going to be a very good player.

Deluca nearly took a speccy

Walker nearly hit a target
Lance nearly held Ottens
Mcgrath nearly kicked a goal just needed a bit more practice
Stevens nearly made it to a contest
Maclaren nearly got a touch
Betts nearly crumbed the ball and nearly kicked a goal
Blacker kept the benchseat warm
as did Kennedy

We only had to kick in from a point 4 times

Kade Simpson take a bow son you deserve it

The big Irishman looked ok again and tried hard. Still learning the game and did get caught out of position but overall pretty good.

Lance got into them at the huddles and kept them out there after the siren to hammer home some points - LEADERSHIP!

Simpson is just getting better and better, if Murphy becomes our Cousins, could Simpson become our Kerr?

Thought Josh Kennedy was ok (when actually on the ground). Took a fantastic contested mark which resulted in a goal.

Young Blackwell looks a player and always seems to find the ball, combine him with Simpson and Murphy and the years ahead don't seem so daunting. He got pushed off it a couple of times and lost a wrestle which resulted in a Geelong goal but ultimately was pretty handy - just needs to improve his strength which will happen.

Bentick got in and under but at times looked to slow. Still consistently gets in and under.

It was a positive that we were playing an ordinary team. Skill level was appalling today, could have been really ugly.

Simpson a major positive and his elevation to the leadership group a huge positive - he sets a good example as he has a sense of urgency when he has the ball.

Simpson reminds me quite a bit of Peter Bell during his time at North. Just grab that ball and run like the wind.

Cory McGrath was fantastic in the midfield but his finishing was deplorable.

I thought for the first quarter and a bit we were right in the game, but we kept kicking points and they kept kicking goals and by just before half time you could tell our guys' confidence was shot. The skills just fell apart after that.

I reckon the drop in confidence led to the poor showing after 1/4 time. Missing those early shots at goal was unforgivable.

The guys gave everything they had, it just wasnt our day today.

Simpson is a star right now.
Kennedy looked agressive, at the ball and the man.

Setanta did some ncie things and sometimes he really looks like he belongs. Will be better for every minute he plays.

Walker was ok.
Fevola is a champ.

Weird positive...

How much we missed Murphy's drive through the centre. Considering he has only played a dozen or so games, this boy is our great positive of the season.

The old argument of Red playing up forward has merit because it gives Kennedy who should be played at CHB for a while, carlos and Bannister something to kick to.Whitnall has to play at CHF.Eventually Kennedy will but for now play him on some good forwards to learn the caper.Whitnall needs time up forward. He gives me the impression he has had enough in defence.

He got owned in the first quarter but Ablett barely got a sniff thereafter.

Was far from our worst when we were getting caned in the second half.

That he rebounded from a horror start says volumes about him IMO.
