I think someone on here the other day was apprehensive about where the funds raised from the Ball were going. Have had a chat to the Club and the following line has been added:

This special event is a vital fundraiser for Carlton and will include a variety of priceless auction items.

So dont worry about where it goes - its all for the club under the Kouta banner.

M

Does that mean we can afford to get some rookies on the list after the Ball is held or will the money go to Kouta's contract or perhaps DP's Golden Handshake?

He gets paid if he gets the head job.

Now, that's pay-for-play

Whilst we are on the Essendon* theme, recently I was invited by a coterie member to their ball/fundraiser.

Auctions items that I remember:

Peter Costello to attend a lunch sold for $15,000. (This price did not include lunch just Costello).

Next years Anzac Day guernsey worn by the Essendon* captain and signed by him and the coach $6,000.

Off the top of my head they would have raised $150k-200k.

It's just the club auction, which is held every year, with a Kouta theme.

Yes I'm going.
