We hear about the money needed by football clubs.

We hear that the problems of many of the clubs, is that the
number of memberships are down.

We hear that the players want more money.

!!!!!!!!! Who are the most important people in our game.
They are the supporters. Without them there would not be an AFL.

What happens to the supporters.
They are never mentioned or even thought of, when the money is being handed out.
The costs of going to the game keep rising.
You get ripped off by the price of food at these games.
Your teams game is on a pay TV channel, because someone gets more
money from this.
Your game is sold interstate. Thats terrific for someone, but mot
for you.

We all love our teams, and are prepared to, and have, given up lots for them,
but it has got to the ridiculous stage in this era of big money making
football.

Football used to be for the supporters. It is now a business, and the
supporters dont get a look in.

bluey, we the people are known only as 'consumers' with large amounts of readily available 'expendable income'. The AFL industry, with all it's snouts (Demetriou & his payrises, AFLPA, etc., ), is just one of many greedy industries chasing consumers' expendable income. It's a business.

The question is, how far can they push before you SERIOUSLY decide enough is enough and cease contributing financially to the AFL industry via memberships, etc.?

Without lots of things there wouldn't be an AFL. Without football there wouldn't be an AFL. Without the discovery of Australia there wouldn't be an AFL. Without Courtney Johns, the AFL may not have survived. The AFL realise that most supporters or consumers are passionate enough to continue to support and pay the price.

Well said Bluey, we all like to dream of a romantic image of ourselves cheering on our football heroes. We all remember sitting at the footy with a mate/father/grandfather etc whilst watching the heroics of some of our Navy Blue greats, whilst somewhere in a boardroom some guys in armani suits plot complicated plans on how to use our passion, loyalty and commitment to squirrel an extra couple of bucks out of our already tight household budgets.
