Can you not smash one of my windows, thanks? He's not worth it.

According to Caro they won't have someone on the board, but they will have a designated representative sitting in on board meetings. That could be handy if the club wishes to object to the AFL launching Toyota at our home games or another issue.

AFL defers talks on club payouts[/url]

Meanwhile, Demetriou last night denied that the AFL had pushed for a position on the Carlton board in exchange for a $1.5 million loan.

But he confirmed it wanted to send a designated representative — not an AFL employee — to sit in at board meetings.

The Carlton board was discussing the league's offer last night.

I'm sure they all had a nice meal!

What the hell is this person going to do or come up with that isn't an AFL plan?

Will he/she vote or sit in on a meeting regarding a stadium deal with the AFL owned Docklands or the MCG? :?

Maybe the afl appointed person might have some original ideas...? Or he/she might just move a motion that the whole board resigns... This could be a good thing.

Our debt to the NAB is 100% guaranteed by the AFL, like they do for all AFL clubs these days.

Ahmed will never be on our board or Presient for that matter, whilst he is CEO of the NAB. Ahmed wanted to be Carlton President, but the NAB Board told him in no uncertain terms that they didn't pay him sh*t loads to spend his time elsewhere.

Messianic expectations though camel... when you're broke, and broken, there's not much you can do other than tip in your pockets ... he can do that without being a Director.

As much as we need money we need clear, precise and long term strategic thinking. I reckon Mr Fahour would have that in spades.

Fitzpatrick to be an 'independant observer' in the board room.

http://afl.com.au/default.asp?pg=news&s ... eid=282178

Extra $500,000 for ground maintenance.

Now that the mexican stand-off has finished, there will hopefully be some good news for the club coming up soon. 8)

The AFL will provide independent financial advisors to work with the club

What the hell does that mean? Who's actually running the bloody club now?

Am I correct in assuming the current Carlton management is regarded as totally incompetent?

Can we afford to wait till next year for a board vote?

Nothing wrong with the AFL throwing us top notch financial management; they'll help us set up for the future.

You'll probably find the difference between us and the power clubs around now is that we probably don't use financial managers to manage our investments and so forth. The general theme at Carlton seems to be one of stubborness. Failing to do something like that doesn't make the board incompetent, merely overly proud.

More like a board with a struggling cash-flow playing it safe.

I really want to see how they perform with a bit of cash in hand and some good financial contacts before I assess their business nous.
