I'd rather himgather dust than go into the ruck.

KENNEDY IN THE RUCK = INSANITY

Is Kennedy a better option up forward than Fisher or Waite?

In my opinion he is - the other 2 are flankers, he is a genuine CHF who will present and has the size to break open packs

Now there's another idea, put Waite in for the centre bounces, he also has a nice leap.

Just anything to free up the forward line at centre breaks, some sort of ingenuity to better utilise the bench.

Bryan was great today, French should be dropped ASAP, offers nothing to our team anymore.

Carlos won the ball well, but man he needs to learn how to kick and his decision making was laughable at times. Moving forward he has had his taste now but he needs to go back to the Bullants and work on those areas before next season. Give Hartlett and Bower a run in the next month once they have another game in the Bullants Seniors.

Or at least anything to stop Waite from kicking the ball *Shakes head resignedly*

Disagree.
Setanta's vision & decision making IN CLOSE is as good as anyones.
He's played 6 games at AFL level and has improved with every outing.
He still has plenty of improvement in him especially with his fluency and broad vision of the play upfield but that comes with the territory of adapting to AFL tempo.
Why in gods name would you send him back to the 'slowness' of VFL when he is showing real improvement at AFL level???
Keep the momentum rolling.

I thought Setanta got the ball really well today, but I went away from the ground thinking will this guy ever be able to dispose of the ball properly and improve his decision making. He cost us a couple of goals to be honest. Given he's only played a couple of games so I hope so, it was just a thought I had...But he bobbed up everywhere getting the ball.

I agree. So he stuffed up a couple of times, so what. At least he stuffed up trying to create something. He's not making mistakes chipping 10 minutes sidesways, he's doing it playing on when he perhaps shouldn't be. I like that instinct. His judgement will improve as he gets more game time in the seniors.

And if his kicking for goal on the run stinks, so does Simmo's most of the time. They can both work on it.

Good work Setanta, keep it up.

Setanta can do the incredible, and is still learning the basics. He could be anything. Suggestions to chop & change given his history are nonsense. let him learn a spot for a while, then move him if need be down the track.

He constantly surprises. When I saw him in his first year of the VFL, his direct leading, pace and shots on goal at times were fantastic. Its clear to me that his combination of pace, size and aggression is unique to the game. Anything unique (positive) should be persevered with, espeically given the state of our list.

Even if he was woeful today he needs another 2 years on the list to learn the basics. But he wasn't, he was something of a defensive leader. Now isnt that something we've been crying out for for years?

Don't forget guys that Stynes and Kennelly were pretty horid in their early years. If he's going okay after 6 games then really that's not so bad.

If he's doing the same after 50 games maybe some concerns.

If you want to analys his game and dissect it bit by bit then it was very ordinary. But i dont want to do that.I want to focus on his EXUBERANCE.He just gets in there and has a gigantic crack. And i am thrilled with his progress.

The kid had a huge upside, he moves well, is good in close, but thats a very small part of the game, he needs a huge amount of work still on his ability to read the play, field kicking and decision making. So many times he just let his opponent run him to the ball and failed to put pressure on. When he is on his opponents back he looks great, but for my liking it is not often enough at this stage.

Another summer working on the above and I'm sure Carlos will improve ten fold again, but at this time I say the Bullants will do more for his development.

Either way he needs to be perservered with if only because in 3-4 years time when we're back playing finals and the Hawks are our nemesis again, he'll be the only player on our list with the height, atheleticism and speeds to go with Buddy Franklin (unless we draft Hansen I suppose).

Did some nice things, showed some good composure at times and has to be persevered with. So what he will make some mistakes, with a player like Setanta you focus on what he does well rather than what he might not do so well. I think the more time that he is out there the better it will get for him in terms of finding the pace of a game. Should play every game for the rest of the season.

Was exciting to watch today ... and for those with anything negative to say about the 6 gamer, mabe you should consider that he wasn't that one that had 6 goals kicked on him in a half of football.

I wonder how he would've went on Lucas. He's got the speed, the agility and the height but would probably lose out on footy nouse and body strength.

You wouldnt play him on Lucas yet... but in a couple of years.

Well donr Setanta.. suffers from brain explosions.. but it is all begining to come together.

Was most impressed by Setanta's TACKLING. Went hard at the ball, and if a bomber picked up the ball he went hard at the bomber. And What a great pack mark!!! 8)

Also, he's instinct to run in a forward direction, rather than backwards or sideways, is great, although it did get him into a bit of trouble today.

Essenduds did give him a lot of room though, didnt seem to mind him getting the ball.
