So's the way he plays.

But.....he has the best excuse every weekâ„¢

I have a mad idea, lets bag our own players, especially our best ones.

Who are our best, in your opinion, I_S?

Surely you're not referring to Stevens....

im going to cop it for saying this but i think its bad for us that kouta has now strung together 2 really good games, the reason i say this is because it might make him want to play on next year, no disrespect to him as he is probably the best carlton player i've ever seen but i'd rather see a younger guy play instead of him.

Stevens did have a shocker but an even bigger negative is there were about 8 guys far worse than him.

Our disposal is deplorable. Honestly, if I hear this pre season that player X can run around Optus under 10 minutes or player Y can bench press 300 kgs, I will scream - I don't care!!!

Skills, skills, skills. The whole pre season needs to be spent with footballs. Getting the ball, kicking the ball, hitting targets, kicking goals, handballing - skills, skills, skills please.

I know where you're coming from, and to tell you the truth, I'm a little torn about that....I'm of 2 minds about it. I want him to play on in the vain hope that he may come good after a good rest at the end of the year, but realistically, I know that's not what would happen if he did.

Why is it that every single one of us can see this, yet our coaching staff don't appear to be able to?

And he's been training and playing all year, and is still overweight why then?

It's perfectly possible the lay-off wasn't long enough and the extra kgs merely placed more stress on his groin, which would obviously be compounded by continuing to play through the season, regardless of whether the weight has come off or not.

Add to that, Player X is looking like a monster.

Absolutely! So frustrating to watch us dominate play for little or no reward then watch the opposition rebound it easily and punish us.

Come on, there are "low impact" ways of weight-reduction....surely Boombalata Stevens could and should have been forced to get into that...

Stevens, Scotland & Houlihan are our best midfielders, whether or not thats why we are at the bottom makes no difference, they are still our best midfielders.

They may be our best midfielders (and only because Smurf is injured), but no way are they, especially Boombalata among our best players. The only one you mentioned who can be proud of the input he's put in this year is Scooter.

The biggest problem with Stevens is the management of him!!! He more than most midfielders needs to be rotated. I can't remember the last time he was. FFS DP get with the times and give Stevens a rest every 1/4!!!! If it's good enough for Judd, Cousins, Hird, Voss, Crawford, Kerr etc it's good enough for Stevens. He is not the player you can rest in the backline for sure. The trouble with DP is that once a move of his half comes off (eg Stevens in the backline against Bulldogs) it takes him around half a season to realise it's won't work again!!

Another huge negative for me was the tackling. I really can't see any influence that TL has had on this team. Can someone enlighten me???

spot on. it has happened on a million occasions where if something works once it has to not work a 100 times for DP to realize it isnt working.

Excuses......

The time for them to stop was about 12 weeks ago.
