As an avid Carlton supporter / member for many years, and one who loves being involved in forums on the blues, I still find it hard too believe the lack of selling of our club (painting the big picture) we see with only 5 rounds too go in the season.

Regardless of the off field side of things, we have a big chance too take giant leaps and bounds over the next few months.

It's great too get articles on the young blues, in particular from Blackwell recently.

- I really want to hear that Blackwell, Simpson, Hartlett and Russell have signed again from the club.

- I want the club too openly comunicate there interest in hitting the PSD well hard (Essendon* has)

- I want the club too openly communicate and sell the vision of hitting the National Draft with gusto.

We are all frantically debating and being filled with nervous excitement about Gibbs, or Hansen etc.

We have all bantered around possible delistings, and I am pleased that the club is going too recruit youth, but for me, as a proactive member those words are still whispers, and need too be louder.

I want to see Pagan on the news rubbing his hands together selling the idea of possible 6 picks in the national draft, talking up a couple of our rookies, and the club getting more of our youngers guys onto the likes of White Line Fever (Scotland has) and On the Couch etc.

The club will obviously be putting in the efforts on the National Draft and potential out of contract players behind the scenes, but we are not in the position membership wise where thsoe supporters not involved in these forums and as proactive as us are receiving that info.

We talk about these components of our club regularly, but with 5 rounds too go, and a chance too Make a Difference at seasons end, I just hope our Blues extract the digit.

Absolutely. Can only agree.

Blackwell's 2 years are up at the end of this year. Recontract and announce! Simmo is having a breakthrough year but was listed in the press as being of interest to Essendon*. Recontract and announce! We've got good news on that list but its not visible because none of our 2005ND'ees are out there. How good a story would Jackson have been if promoted? The Club has to look forward, sell the story for 2007 and give us all hope.

Even last weekend was a chance lost. Walker was the 5th youngest Blue to ever hit 50 games.. and where was the press? 1 measly article!

We've got to sell the story or 29400 will become 27000 or even 25000 and then wont we look 'pov' at the very bottom of the membership lists?

The only person selling the club at the moment is Fev. He always speaks with pride in relation to the CFC and defends them at whenever someone takes a cheap shot.

Unfortunately our current president does more harm then good calling us insolvent then taking it back

Our Coach getting old game plan changing weekly patching up the wholes. All he provides at the moment is the online comments to the media to make them laugh.

We as Carlton members need a vision and a plan and for god sake please tell us what it is and show us how you’re working towards it.

So true...........................we have no clue where the Club is going! And that is nothing short of a disgrace from all members of the board.

The sad thing is that none of them, from Pagan to Smorgan, are copping any slack from the media What-so-ever!

It's all the players. It's all i hear.

Sure, the players must take some of the responsibilty, that's a given (except Fev who has been nothing short of out-standing this season and we could not have asked for anything more from him!) but i think they are copping just way to much of the blame from the media world. And the fact that Smorgan & Co just sit back and watch it is a disgrace!

WAKE UP CARLTON!

I love my club very much and have been a member for close to 10 years now.

I even bought a 2nd Social Club membership this season because the club was in trouble..............................I will not be doing that next year, which is sad!

Heard you on SEN tonight. Thought they cut you off pretty quickly, but you came across well. Well done!

We do seem to be just coasting along waiting for things for happen but in our state we have to make things happen or at least try too.

I'm not the Insider that a poster claimed I consider myself to be, with any info I get provided through people I met from here, but if you think about where Carlton's good news stories come from:

* Sportal, who do it under contract, and don't do it very well;
* The Contributors, who have to ask in advance for 1 person to talk to each week for a 5-10 minute spot. The really interesting people to talk to of Walker, Murphy and Setanta have been off-limits for whatever reason, and I can only admit that we're amateurs who do the job for free out of love for the Club; and
* Club Corner, Tuesday 11pm for about 1000 people.

Where else does it come from? Murphy got a bit of press for his outstanding performances, and Simmo got a bit this year - again for being outstanding... but I ask you how hard is it to be outstanding in a very struggling team? That's 2 players out of 10 on ourlist who need to be promoted by the Club as our future. Where's the story on the website talking about our emerging KPP talent? Where's the story on Hartlett / Bower's form and return from injury? Where's the rundown on all the rookies?

I am a footy loser who would gladly do it given time with the relevant people.

So I can only agree Barnesy. We have the stories to tell and the players coming through but we're either understaffed, under-inclined or under instruction to not promote the Club. It is very disappointing.

Also heard you on SEN - came across really well, everything you say is correct - it is one thing to cry out for more members but look at how they are treated during the year!

Pagan is untouchable, our president nowhere to be seen (Collo wasn't much better on that front) & nothing from the committee.

Power to the people! Well spoken!

I heard you too on SEN Barnesy... well said !!!

The club isn't selling itself, Pagan and his assistants can't coach, the board has done nothing, and worst of all... us members are completely ignored.

I can't begin to tell you how many times I've rung the club, written letters to the coach and to the board - giving them suggestions, and guess how many times I've heard back.... ZERO !!!

There's sooo many obvious things the club is doing wrong that if the arrogant pricks running the show looked outside the square for a second, they'd realise just how many things the club needs to do.

I feel like not re-newing my membership and encouraging others to do the same... but in the end ...I just can't...I love the club too much.

WHAT DO I DO ????? WHATS THE ANSWER ???? IT'S KILLING ME !!!

And if this white knight is to arrive, now would be a pretty good time in terms of trade week being only 2 months away with an eye to the PSD. Why would any player want to come here the way we promote ourselves?
Public relations seems to be a scary term for the Carlton Football Club.
