i think he's slipped since the halfway mark of the season, not as a leader just as a player he's been getting plenty of the ball and is crucial to our setup but as been beaten by his opponenets and hasnt really been going to the best players in the opposition forward line, dont want him to be captain but dont want stevo or fev to be captain either, it'll sound ridicilous but i'd love to see murph get given the captaincy havent seen any carlton player show as much leadership as he has in the last 7 years.

I haven't had him in my votes since about round 8. Was in the top few players before then.

But the point i was trying to get was that Caroline Wilson has said on Wednesday night Fox footy that Lance has let himself go again and got back into bad habits off the field and i think she could only mean his weight issues

I hope she is wrong about that and talkin crap and that it is only that opposition coaches are draggin Whitnall out of the play as they know he is Carltons Quarterback in defence

Let me know what you think about that

I would put walker in there somewhere. Our club wouldn't have the balls to do this, but we would love it.

No I don't think he has let himself go again.

Still playing solid football. He was outstanding in the first 10 rounds, if he had of kept that he would be up there in the top 5 of the Brownlow, that's is how good he was travelling.

It's only natural he will slip back in form, playing with such a struggling team etc.

It would be good for him to play another few 'outstanding' games though.

How many "Top 5" players were often moved off their opponents because they were getting pumped? :?

Lance's early form was good but lets not get carried away.
He hasnt been capable of consistently hold down a key position in a wooden spoon side.

To be far though, if we were any good, Lance would be playing CHF. He has his good and bad days in defence. You can just see him itching to get forward of centre where his best work is delivered.

I disagree Stokesy.
He is at best a floating 3rd tall.
He would be a smart flanker in a good side but in a lower side, the opposition work through his opponent at will.

Lance is battling a chronic knee injury and has not been able to train or run freely for 4 weeks> he will not play today and may miss next week also. Get off his case!!!!!!!

I only noticed Whitnal's game slip in Round 16 and that was only because he couldn't keep up with Scott Lucas and he was beaten.
But before then, mind you I didn't go to the Bulldogs or Geelong matches, he has been our best player week in week out.
It is unfair to pick out a player who has had a fantastic year for us and then have a go at him, because he hasn't played 'fantastic' the last few weeks. I mean, he hasn't played any shit games and if he has been injuried then there is a bit of an indication as to why his game may have slipped.

No not as a present day footballer.. the present day is today.. and he isnt playing..

You cant only live in the present without planning for the future.. because the future becomes the present.
