Missed the game completely today but on the drive home was listening to the interview with pagan on 3LO (774) - pagan mentioned stevens' or steven's (sticks?) delivered a really emotional address or something? - didnt really catch all of it and I think they cut the interview short to go to the daniher conference.

Could anyone shed any light on this? - If it was nick stevens that gave the speech then good on him. If it was a sticks speech that inspired the troops, then isnt that the second time in recent memory that we have had a win after one of his speeches? (would that be a reflection on pagan?)

Then again, I was driving so maybe there was no speech altogether! - Can anyone clarify this?

thanks for clarifying - I was sort of hoping it was nick stevens.

Presumably the speech was something along the lines of avoiding the spoon. Should we read anything into the fact that sticks could have been responsible for 2 of our 3 wins this season? (ie coaching)

Jeez - Sticks is 2 for 2 with giving motivational speeches and delivering wins.

Didn't he give a similar talk before the first Essendon* game???

Well Sticks you're Football Director - I would leave those speeches in the bottom of your desk drawer till the start next season.

Fev says Sticks went nuts and got real emotional.... would have been something awesome to hear and witness.

Pagan said he hasn't seen Sticks like it.

Sticks as coach with Ratten, SOS, MadDog, Deano and Mitchell as assistants? Would be nice to see, but i doubt Sticks would leave his seat on the board to Coach.

Pagan in his interview just mentioned that Bower and Hartlett are probably the only other two kids he wanted to try this year, but injury and fitness will see them struggle this year.

You are kidding aren't you? Can't you fit in more past players onto that list and exactly what has Sticks brought to the club as a board member?
I doubt Sticks would leave his seat on the board to coach considering he used his position on the board to appoint our current coach for 2 more years after this one
