It has been a bloody long time since we won 2 in a row - and with Hawthorn next week this may well become reality if we continue to play good footy.

Yeeeee-haaaaarr!

2 in a row sounds good.

Richmond after Hawks, could be 3. 8)

I would love for Carlton to win 3 in a row. It would be so awesome. Go Blues.

Can I actually take my kids next week and tell them we will sing the song after the siren not just before the game ( I didn't take the kids today but sure as hell sang the song for them as well as me)

I'd rather not win any more matches and get the priority pick (and hopefully Essendon* don't win any more games).

Sorry, but I'm thinking with my head not my heart.

You must be disappointed with today's win. Did you barrack for the Demons? Let's all hope we win the spoon.

you must still have that woody from a couple of years ago when we won 10 but ended up with Russell over Deledio and Franklin...

Nothing agsint Russell but he aint no Deledio and he aint no Franklin and he certainly doesnt compare to having both...

Therein lies the big issue, you have to draft quality youth to get anywhere.

Tomorrow when the emotion of the win has subsided, people will hopefully look at this win in a completely different light and hopefully more in the context of the whole season.

I'm back in action this week and will be attending the game, after missing this week due to the removal of four wisdom teeth

If we knock of the Hawks then we have the Tigers. We may lose a draft pick if we win 2 more but the positives for our membership drive in 2007 would be substantial.

As for Franklin, the day he realises he is not a superstar and playes fro the team like JR is the day I rate him as a player. Franklin is good when the team is playing well, has only played one decent game all year.

Remember those young Hawthorn Players are far superior to our young players and will account for us easily 8)

Draft picks have nether won a premiership ie st kilda and hawthorn. What wins premiership is have a champion team not a team of champions.

im not necessarily agreeing with you bb8 but the perfect team to back you up is adelaide and they've only got one top 10 draft pick in their team and that was kris massie i know they havent won a premiership yet but most people would agree tha they are the favourites this year, sydney dont have many top 10 draft picks they have mcveigh who was a no.3 that i know of, brisbane i dont know any player who was a top 10 draft pick for them. as you say, a champion team is better than a team of champions.

That exactly what im saying there are plenty of teams at the moment with only a few first round picks yet seem to be doing fine.

There are people on here that just have a very narrow way of thinking the only way we are getting better is draft picks.

The club cannot survive without winning first.

Just a question for the tanking people what happens if Carlton tanks for five years and gets PP who turn out to be all stars then we have ten young kids that we cannot afford to keep in the salery cap. You need to have a mix in your team thats why there is a salery cap. Even brisbane had some players that werent starts in there premiship years. Pyke the Scott brothers are a couple of examples.

Some people enjoyed the win!

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 78313.html

Quote:
But for Blackwell, Russell and O'hAilpin, it was about finding out what it felt like to win. Blackwell had played eight senior games before yesterday, and got his winning fix only with the Northern Bullants.

Russell played one game last season, had earned another eight this year, and still not won one. O'hAilpin, who arrived at Carlton in 2004, also notched game No. 8 yesterday.

And so, holding on to beat Melbourne meant all three got to stand together in the middle of the circle, have things thrown at them and sing their team's theme song for the first meaningful time in their lives.

High draft picks or not, Brisbane were a team with guns on every line, brownlows x3. A champion team yes, but full of champions,

proves that you dont need early draft picks to have champions then.
