If we could get a suitable trade then i would go for it. (1st round pick or even a second round pick.) However it would be dificult to do to him after such a good year, you know what i mean.

You mean it would be better to trade him after a crap year when he's worthless?

This is one of the great problems with our club over the last 10 years. We used to send players to St. Kilda in exchange for guys who could help us to a flag (Perovic, Rice, Devonport... etc).

Now we tell ourselves that they're too valuable to let go and we end up with an aging stale list.

Whitnall's had a reasonable year (for once) but he's going to be a major liability within 2-3 years and we'll have an asset worth zilch.
And on it goes...

What i mean is he is a father son pick and i don't like the idea of getting rid of him as soon as he show's abit again..I do see your point however, but i want other father son kids to want to play for Carlton also. He will still be beneficial to Carlton for another 2-4 years while we develope kids to fill the voids.

maybe now I_S you should launch into a rant about how "you have the inside information" regarding the italian squad and you really do know whats going on inside the club, then give pointless anecdotes and misleading stories to support your claim.

In fairness it's not beyond reason Lance was playing with the injury considering our clubs recent history.

For the player with the Smartest Football BrainTM he's certainly taking a long time to figure out that backing into people with his arse earns a free kick against him.

Although that one was obvious the rule is a joke. There is shepharding going on in plenty of marking contests. Watch Sydney closely they are experts at getting players blocking guys going for pack marks.

I agree, Lance gets pinged for a completely legitimate marking attempt once a game or so purley because he featured on the umpire's DVD. I'm just amazed he hasn't learned that he's a marked man by now.

he gave away 1 yesterday and he's given away 15 all year. that's pretty good for someone who's involved i the play as much as he is, but i think the point wojee was making was that he continually gives away freekicks for shepherding, all he ahs to do is have his eyes on the ball and he can just about do anything with his body.

Exactly. He usually takes a quick look over his shoulder as he's about to make contact and that sinks him every time.
