You can't believe in tanking when you read something like that. Brings a tear to my eye. We are so going to win next week.

I agree - it gave me goosebumps.

I loved this bit
Quote:
Blackwell was sure he would remember the words. His father, Wayne, was a Blue in more successful times, and while he grew up on the other side of the country, Luke always wanted to play for his dad's team. "I've been waiting to sing that song for 15 years," he said. "I was sweet."

This is why we need to win, so these kids get a taste for it. Having another two years down the bottom will hinder the development of these kids and they will possibly accept average performances for the rest of their careers. Have you heard of a team named St.Kilda?

If we hit next year off to a flying start, the kids we pick up this year will witness and be part of a winning formula from day 1 and won't ever want to be part of a losing team.

Being ultra competitive because you love nothing more than winning and being successful is what will drive the club to success. Get on board everyone.

The phoenix that will rise from the ashes of the past four years will be a more destructive force than anything the VFL/AFL has seen.

A full-strength typical Carlton team, with the pain of spoons behind them is something we have not witnessed.

Heaven help the other fifteeen teams when we put it all together. Heaven help them.

Shrewd, young man Blackwell. Communicates with directness and passion without resorting to the, "Obviously..." He really wants to win and has a great ability to bear his heart in such a way that his honestry is strength. Has shown great improvement in his game and will make an excellent leader down the line.

Love Russell's game. Just something about him. As the Carlton side gather momentum and wins he will shine on.

Santy, I hope will be the grunt and passion...the icing.

How good is winning?

(Am I being short-sighted... )

Some more "not losing" would be good. Blackwell has got gradually more used to how quickly AFL players move, and wants to get fitter and faster. "After a few games you get an idea of what you need to be," he said. "You understand more about what it's going to take."

What a great article. I heard the word 'goosebumps' and I felt those too. I remember the Carlton of old and that winning feeling that we took for granted. I can see an embryo forming and when it fully develops we are all going to see something special. Hey, we might even beat St.Kilda!

I've got a feeling when it is going to hit it's going to come on so quick we won't know what hit us.

Let us all think about these times we are having. Having been in a team which is not successful will make us a better successful team, fearful of those dark times recurring instead of taking success for granted. It will make us better supporters - more supportive.

Keep the faith one and all. We all love the blues!

I loved Russels chase down of Carroll in the last quarter and then sized him up again a few seconds later with another desperate tackle.

Fantastic stuff.
