Malouf and co. need help. It tells you a whole lot about our club.

Exactly. We as members are putting our heads in the sand, again.

So tell me the exact perfect number of people to run a football club. I doubt any two clubs in the league have the same number of employees.

We're underfunded and underresourced and our administration don't have the time to do many of the things they'd no doubt like to do and you want to tell two UNPAID well credentialled volunteers to @#$%&! off.

You're off your face.

I used to have the attitude Of tell the AFL to go and jump and was dead against Collo's appointment as I saw it as an AFL appointment . But it has become clear that there is no White Knight who is going to come and save the club and most of the so called wealthy supporters and their money seemed to have disappeared with Elliott.

So if some one, anyone is offering anything for free take and take it with open arms I say.

See i finally agreed with Great White Shark

Who cares how many people are employed? Geelong and StKilda were in the same postion as us at relatively similar times. WHICH PEOPLE FROM THE AFL SAT IN ON BOARD MEETINGS AT THOSE CLUBS? WHICH PEOPLE DID THE AFL TELL THOSE CLUBS TO USE AS A CONSULTANT?
I have no problem with the AFL providing these resources, I have problem with the fact that the people we have got can't do the job themselves. If they can't then get out and get someone who can do the job.

What has this got to do with volunteers?

There's hope for you yet.

You might want to have a word to Surrey...

...or you might not.

By the way - Collo was voted in by the Carlton members - nothing to do with the AFL.

Even better, the AFL should send our people to Collingwood.
It should'nt take us long to drag them down.
Sort of an "equalisation system" for administrations.

I think Eddie's doing a fine job on his own at the moment.

Always thought he had a horrible anus.

Think one of the reasons why the AFL only gave us a loan instead of a cash grant is that they are expecting a benefactor will come along in the next 12 months. Read that now a couple of times.

Possibly??? The AFL have just hired someone to run a part of the CFC, Smorgen (who is running the club - supposedly) has never met him, yet it could possible be a concern.

And of course you'll be at the top of the list of those who'll read into it what they want to.

Amazing that a "part-time consultant" is now "running a part of the CFC".

Do you know what a consultant is Surrey?

Do you really think Watts will just barge in and make decisions against the will of the club?

Are you really that paranoid?

Are you soulfly's lovechild?

Well said. There is an awful lot of poor interpretation going around. Some people are saying the clubs in receivership because the AFL have:

1. Loaned the club $1.5 million.
2. Appointed a former club great to the Board. Someone we have been chasing for years.
3. Have supplied a consultant to assist the club with turning the business around.

Ridiculous. Elliott and the former Board nearly destroyed the club by the looks of things and it is going to take a while to turn things around. Whilst it hurts to see the club in this situation there dont seem to be too many financial geniuses at the club presently and no wealthy benefactor in sight.

I love pre-season. If we can't play finals at least we have a summer of top draft picks, football department review, board elections or overthrow or smooth transition, marketing campaigns and training reports. Who ever said their was 22 rounds and finals?
