Maybe Kouta has been bouyed by the news of Voss reportedly getting 950,000 for not playing next year and is trying his luck ...

Kouta is not in the 8 worse players at our club, but he has shown all the signs that he will not be our future.

But he will be in 1-2 years or so. Thats the thing that shits me - for a bottom club it should all be about planning our next great team. But we're thinking of allowing a great player of the past to run out for another year for no apparent reason - and no doubt he wont be dumped, theyll just play him off the bench as a pinch forward or something like that - when SURELY its about our next team, NOT OUR PAST TEAM?

What are we doing this year? IMPROVEMENT IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR????

What tripe!!!!!

Expected this crap from Robo. Althoug I didn't realise Jim Wilson was such a shit stirrer.

All quotes from Allison and not even an attempt to contact the club for its opinion/version of events. Should be under the gossip section of the HUN because this is not sports "reporting".

Lets wait until some real reporters write up the story.

Who does Robbo barrack for?

So this is Robbo covering contract negotiations between Essendon* and Scott Lucas.

http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/footy/ ... 22,00.html

Quotes from Lucas's player manager and club reps. Very similar situation, just less shit stirring in its tone and actually advocates the clubs position.

Robbo is a media hack and I'll believe this is more of an issue when I see other reporters cover and actually speak to someone representing the clubs position.

Kouta should retire and enjoy the money the club has thrown is way...200K is a fair offer all things considered and he should be happy he has been set up for life rather than have his manager whine for more...

Kouta would not get $200,000 from any other club.

Well done Carlton football club for finally offering contracts that represent market value (or close to it).

Its probably pointless but people regardless of where you stand on this could we keep in mind the service Kouta has given the club. The contract was signed when he was the best player in the competition and he could have got more at another club but he stayed loyal. Before his knee injuries he was our best player who gave his all on and off the field and has been the face of the club marketing wise for most of this decade.

Yes Allison is blood-sucking prick and yes the money is an issue but before we start abusing a true Carlton great please take a deep breath and don’t let the current contractual wranglings overshadow what he has given the club.

If the story is true and not an attempt by DA to get more money and sympathy for his player, it would be disappointing as Kouta stated after the Essendon* game that playing on next year would not be about money.

I'd keep the $200K offer but tell him we'll add an extra $100K if he dumps his arsehole manager, otherwise - thanks for the memories  .

Loved this bit:

"A first-round draftee could play every game next year and earn $100,000 . . . and Kouta is the captain," an exasperated Allison said.

Kouta himself said he won't be Captain next year you dimwit.

Then you have Pagan in another article say:

http://www.realfooty.theage.com.au/real ... 61393.html

"He's a pretty talented player and … if he wants to play again and we can sit down and architect a role that he plays — a little bit of the bench, a little bit in the midfield, a little bit forward — I still think he could be a plus," Pagan said.

So Mr Allison it appears Koutas role will be similar to a first year player who plays every game.

Its so hard to say but just let him go if he does'nt take the offer...

Kouta's been a champion for us but its time to move forward.....

Bring him in part time to help with some of the kids at training...

Its best for the club, Kouta and the developing kids!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone wins!

If true, this should come as no surprise to Kouta. He's seen what happened to Campo, Allan, Hammill etc.

I believe they will come to an agreement as Kouta will want to play on with the chance to finish his career with some sort of success in a young and developing team. I think ego will also see him want to get as close to 300 games as possible.

PLayers like Blackers and Simmo have been used to relieve Kouta etc and I could see the roles reversed.

I hope they can work something out without crumbling to Allison ( ).

Are these the only people he can turn to?

Thanks for the memories, make sure you hand in the keys before you go please.

Please Kouta enough is enough....please tell me you can think for yourself...tell your manager to go forth and multiply and you should be able to work this out with the club yourself....

I dont know if you know this Kouta but in the real world people are accountable for their own actions and have to make life changing decision all the time by themselves....

so please realise the club is bigger than the individual and do a silvangi (if you cant handle the money the club is offering you)....retire at that same time the new TV rights kick in and cash in....

but dont drag this thru the media the club doesnt need it.....you know the same club that has given you a premiership, b&f's and set you financially for the rest of your life....a way of life you would of only dreamt about all the years ago living in Lalor....

You know.....CARLTON FOOTBALL CLUB!!!!!!!!!!
