Is it just me or does Denis LOVE making statements about how he would promote a certain youngster "coincidentally" just at the time when its not possible and no one can hold him to it....eg. Blackwell last year and Flinty this week, along with JK though that may not be Denis' fault....I'm a bit sick of it and just wish he would keep it to himself when they get injured, it doesn't make the supporters any more hopeful and if its for player morale it could just as easily be said behind closed doors

It shits me no end.

Its like the other week when he said that they were almost ready for promotion but for some analogy about a door that didn't quite work when you think of what is role should be for developing our team for the future.

His comments about Kennedy coming back too but for the injury...You're the guy who dumped him after giving him 32 minutes on the field in a game...Don't cry over spilled milk now!

How has our number 4 pick from 2000 developed?
Or our No.11 pick?

That's right, if they have'nt developed it's because they're no good. But if they're showing signs, it's a result of "time and patience".

What simplistic nonsense.

I have never been more happier with what Denis is doing at the moment, I for one can see a beaming shining light and the youngsters we have at the moment are coming along wonderfully well.

We are developing our youngsters the best way we can. I have no complaints at all.

I do.

As one example, have a look at the standard of team shepherding.

Excuse me buddy but what pathetic nonsense you've just come up with!

Get your facts right before you start dismissing my comments as 'simplistic nonsense'!...

Maybe ive been out of the loop but to my recollecton, Denis Pagan was coaching the Kangaroos around 2000 when duds like Sporn and Livingston were first drafted!

Take a look at how Simpson and now Walker are developing and tell me right now that Pagan has done the wrong thing...

Ok then... perhaps we should have played Josh Kennedy for the entire year and let him fatigue... all for the sake of 'playing the kids'...

If Kade Simpson isnt a good example of a young kid who has slowly but surely gone along and now developed into a very good footballer with the right development, Mate I'll go he!....

Pick 4 and 11 from 2000... Brittains duds... Yeh, we really stuffed them up didnt we.. It was Wayne Brittain who 'played the kids' including Luke Livingston for nearly the whle season in his 2nd year on the best or 2nd Forward...

Yeh lets do that again... Lets 'play the kids' regardless of whether they're ready to handle it...

Pffft..

Yep, lets play Marc Murphy for every game and see how he goes

Went well didn't he? Was a pick one, should be able to play the season if not injured.

Denis Pagan has proven he knows how to develope youngsters in the past at North, and is doing it again with our talented young guns....

What are you on about?
Who cares where Pagan was when they were drafted?

His role is to develop all youngsters on Carltons list.
You say Simpson has developed under Pagans "time and patience" methods. Well what went wrong with Sporn and Livingston?

Perhaps players do or dont develop because they have luck with injury, or more desire or attitude or opportunity.
Or maybe they are just better.
"Brittains duds", what a load of crap.

As I said, simplistic nonsense.

Murphy's an exception. Most players can't do that.

So if any kid doesn't become a great player then Pagan can't develop players? Your entire argument is based on 2 players not becoming great players. Perhaps these players not developing is due to our recruiting, not Pagan's development skills.
Are you saying that under another coach, Livo and Sporn would have become stars?

If you could take off your Pagan bashing glasses, the maybe you could see the tripe you are serving up.

Livo's devlopment may have been ruined by playing him far too often .

Sporn looked goold for mne two eyars ago and I thought he was one who would make it.

I'll type this for you slowly so hopefully you understand.
My post clearly stated

There are many factors that effect the development of players.

No.1 Blue's post was based on ONE player. That is the exact point I was trying to rebuke Einstein.

Just make it up as you go along hey?

Maybe you should read the post instead of taking cheap shots.
I dont bash Pagan but I refuse to sit back like a sheep and accept everything he dishes up.
