Shocking first half no intensity no run - tackling and chasing appalling
We desperately need a ruckman - french really ordinary - that crucial miss from 25 metres out in the last quarter diabolical snuffed out any chance of winning - Bryan a couple of out of bounce on the full
The ring a ring a rosie handball to a person in a worse position was done to an art form - disposal errors almost as bad as Richmonds game earlier in the year
Fevola magnificent - I also liked Setanta but dont understand why he wasnt on franklin longer - even if it meant he got a bath
I thought Bannister tried hard at least to be pro-active
I thought blackwell bentick carrazzo houlihan all really down on last week.
Need to drop a few and give Jesse Smith Bower or anyone else a turn

Agree with you somewhat Frank. But if we play kids who have desire, then we might win (!!!) and we might as well get the fruits of this year rather than win a couple of useless games.

Even if that means a painful loss to Sydney...where I will be present...

Hopefully that will be Pagan's last game as coach of the Carlton FC...but that's another story...

Given todays performance we wont win another game EVEN WITH A COUPLE OF EXTRA KIDS - I dont understand after last week how we can only play about 40 minutes of football - We do that and only get beaten by the usual 4 goals or less
Richmond will dominant out of the ruck with Simonds and Stafford next week - I dont think they are much better but like Hawthorn are quicker and will stretch us

Absolutely we were aweful. Don't be fooled by the comeback either as the Hawks clearly took the foot off the pedal. We're the junk time comeback kings.

Thought Pagan's first half coaching was as bad as it gets.

still think if we played like we did against Dees with that intensity Hawks wouldnt be 8 goals up approx at half time AND WE HAVE A CHANCE
OVERRATE THE LIST -Yes you know I HAVE A PENCHANT FOR THAT - The trade period draft and pre-season draft are fundamental and I just hope Gibbs /Hansen are as good as everyone says they are

I think people forget Hawthorn were back from a road trip to Perth last week and of course they ran out of legs.

Theyre miles ahead of us at the moment in raw talent and depth.
Take Fev out of that side and we would have been absolutely smashed.. let alone their bad kicking for goal.

What we forget is we will pick 2 players without a priority pick in this years draft inside 25 .. but so will everyone else.

What we need is 3 quality picks in this years top 20 to make any kind of inroad.

If it were up to me wed have 4 in the top 25.

Too bad for me......

We should have around 6 picks.

Each one needs to be quality drafting.

the 3 in the top 20 in a draft as strong as this one should help fill out our list.
It was clear that we lack polish and we know we lack depth.

We dont have many real injuries either.

yep, our list is very ordinary, our midfield needs Bentick, Blackwell and Murphy to come on and be ver good players, 3 or 4 draft picks and 2 years!

I think we are OK in the fwd line. But Waite promises a lot and delivers little. Time to give Bower, Jackson, Harteltt etc. a go.

The thing about possessions is that although Stevens and Lappin had 36 possessions, it's what you do with them. Stevens had 19 to half time...

But Sherman for the Lions had 16 to QUARTER TIME last night but they were all cheap possessions in the back half (Camporeale style).

Desperately need some midfielders who can win the ball and run and carry with good disposal...

How many picks did the Parramatta Eels get mid season this year

That's another good point SB.

Our mindset before we took the Hawks on must have been, we're going to lose. There's absolutely no confidence from the players. The whole season, they've looked like running around like headless chooks, with no game plan, no forward structure, poor disposal, poor decision-making, selfish "rack-up-the-stats" footy.

We need this losers' mindset to change (after we get some draft picks and after a change in coach).

Interesting point SB (go the mighty Eels!) however Parramatta were expected to make the final eight this year. Many pundits expected them to make the top four.

Yes but 12 weeks ago they were last -second in the betting for the wooden spoon - they are now fourth on the end of an eight game winning streak and are third in the betting to win the flag - What happened well they replaced the coach thats what . But guess what there is more the coach who replaced Brian Smith had already signed on to be the assistant coach at South sydney next year. So a part time temporary coach has turned the fortunes of a football team around .

We dont need picks we already have all the talent we need its just a matter in getting them to believe it .

And by the way when Pagan took over in 2003 most pundits had us bouncing back into the eight

Why compare apples with oranges.?????
Unless you can show me where the Rugby League has draft picks why bring up stupidity???

Paramatta can go get players on the open market...

We cant..

Were stuck with whatever we draft.

Now why dont you bring up Real MAdrid???
