Houla sure does seem to attract an enormous amount of unfair criticism.

Thank you. I was starting to think that nobody else actually watched the game. And you can add in 5 clangers from his first 8 possessions. Paper says four, but I reckon they're wrong.

I'm not sure why everyone's listing Russell as an out. I thought he was absolutely hung out to dry by his team mate's disposal. Lost count of the times he ran hard to create an option only to have his team mates butcher the kick so badly that even with all his pace he couldn't get their to take the mark.

Count me in. I was removing $1000 from next year's contract for each screw up. Got him down into the high $180s. By Round 22 he's gonna be paying us to play on next year.

Worst of all was the huddle at half-time when Nick Stevens gave them all a serve before going into the rooms. There was el capitano standing at the back looking around the ground not paying the slightest attention to any of it.

Oh - and those still defending his "honour" - Dave Allison said very clearly on radio yeasterday that Kouta would play on if the money was right but not if it wasn't.

Give me a Digby Morrell anyday.

GWS,

Its just not yesterday. Its been that way since he has been captain.
He is not worth $200K a season. Kouta is finished gone - surely he will hang the boots up

If DA is still talking that shite  [and he would have to be with Kouta's consent], then see ya Kouta because your performance yesterday was uninspiring especially the handball two feet in front of you that did not make the mark.

How Houlas can be criticised for running up to the point of throwing up and beyond astounds me. Everybody here wants signs of hardness but surely giving your maximum has to constitute showing the necessary desire. Harvey has done it many times before and he's not cirticised for it.

Houlas ran with Crawford even though he is a completely different body type and gave his all. More than can be said for a lot of his team-mates yesterday ... and for the whole season so far.

I like Banno. He knows how to play. He will never be an out-an-out star, but he does a lot of good things.

Regarding Kouta, yeah he was shocking on the weekend. His clangers were a joke. I was right near when Fev gave him a spray. We were a chance for another goal, but it just went down the other end. Kouta has clearly lost his magic. The commentators on MMM said that his game was poor. Of course they haven't seen all of his games this year like most here have. The truth is that most of his games this year have been like this last one.

Kouta, three more games to go and then it is all over. I don't care how much they offer you because next year you will not be in our best 22. So hang up the boots now before you lose all of your credibility.

I must be the only one but I actually thought that although he didn't get as much of the ball as in recent weeks, Carrazzo wasn't bad yesterday, and his kicking and decision making appeared a bit better. Definitely wouldn't drop him.

Jordan Bannister is a good foot-soldier type, very solid who when played is always honest and really doesn't do too much wrong. He was quite good but I don't reckon his performances vary a hell of a lot so long as he is given adequte groundtime. Would suggest he has done enough for next year.

Would like to see Jesse Smith come in but I wouldn't have thought that Bower was all that realistic a possibility.

Bannister was good, has improved his decision making and doesnt make many errors..no star but a good grunt. Bryan his usual mixture of great and dismal..never much middle ground but he did actually ruck better than I have seen him and he is a bit more physical the way he goes about it than Barnaby...I wouldnt be dropping Bryan but i wouldnt be getting carried away with him either...needs to cut the errors from his game and get smarter...50/50 to stay on the list...his career might depend what else in terms of ruckman are on the market....

Where does it state he must be listed by last Wednesday? The article RE Smith suggests Jackson still has a chance if he knocks hard enough?

I know their is a cutoff for long term injury lists which Davies, Murphy and Saddington are on i believe. This is all i can find on the great AFL website.

http://carltonfc.com.au/default.asp?pg= ... eid=240716

So does anyone have the rules for the cutoff of rookie promotions?
