So, who's the person who's going to give him the head job at Carlton?

Harvey took the job on at Freo because Sheeds had just signed for three years and CC looked the most vunerable coach to get the bullet.

I think he has heard Smorgans statement the other week and is actually putting his hand up for one of the assistants roles as maybe he sees that Pagan is now the most vunerable coach.

He doesn't appear to have the balls to apply for the job straight out he looks like he wants to slide into the job by default

Just my thoughts

I tend to agree.

Wouldn't want him anyway.

Johnny Longmire would be an interesting selection. As would Gary O'Donnell.

I agree with the options that Danny posted about. I want a thorough process implemented to find the next coach of the Carlton Football Club if infact this rumour is true.

I think Longmire is setting himself up as a career coach and might be the man....I also like Mckenna...like Worsfold was a winner and a was a brave intelligent footballer and when I hear him speak he knows his footy and can pick a good footballer.
Odonnell may have problems asserting his authority...I believe some of the Brisbane players didnt have the respect for him he wanted....

I would be offering a job to Brad Scott.....Scott was a good on field general and he will do well off the field.....comparing B Scott to to Trout and Libba I know I would want on my team...

I'm not a fan of Mark Harvey's at all! I don't think I've ever heard anything noteworthy come out of his mouth anytime he's been interviewed. He had a regular spot on 3aw last year and I didn't think he contributed much. In fact he sounded like he'd just walked out of the Kevin Sheedy School of spin - nothing amazing there.

And the poster that commented on Harvey's reaction about not being approached about the Hawthorn job was right, he was insulted that Hawthorn didn't approach him. The interview on 3aw was quite amazing, you would have thought he was Leigh Matthews coming off 3 flags in a row and Hawthorn were obligated to approach him. He sounded ridiculous.

As much as I am leaning towards the Pagan needs to be replaced side, I would prefer another year of Pagan while the club goes through an EXHAUSTIVE and COMPREHENSIVE review for a replacement rather than appoint Mark Harvey who the media seem to have jumped on because they jump on any bandwagon Sheedy is pushing.

I don't trust him. He would probably trade our good players to Essendon* and then jump ship in a couple of years to replace Sheedy.

I want someone who will think of the Blues as something more than a paycheck.

If he can coach and coach well personal bias or agendas shouldn't come into it. There's a good chance most could coach Carlton better than Pagan right now. His record here would demonstrate that. Sticking with Pagan simply because you don't like someone else personally is like cutting off your nose to spite your face and not smart.

No way.

I agree with PJ's sentiments about being too gutless to go for the senior job on his own merits against competition. He did the same with Fremantle, it's widely perceived that's why he went there for the assistant job.

Hasn't shown any reason why he'd make a senior coach.
