NOT Mark Harvey.
He is positioning himself as the heir apparent for the Bumbers when Sheedy calls it a day, or is sacked.
Freo looked unstable early in the season, but has become a strong finals contender of late, but I'm not in a position to know if Harvey has influenced the change of mindset of the players for the better, or the players have finally woken up from their slumber, or the WA media has flogged them into action.
Too dangerous for my liking.
Pagan is likely to stay, and if so, I would prefer him to have more strategically savvy assistants sitting next to him next year on the MC and on match day (assuming he may as some suggest be behind the times).
My position on this is, Pagan has a team of kids to manage that are either just beginning their development such as Bower, Kennedy, Hartlett, Blackwell, Russell... or are still developing such as Fisher, Waite, Carazzo, Betts, Walker, Murphy...and it is reasonable to see that is why their time has not come yet.
Regardless of the coach I believe the 24 kids we have on our list (incl 3 guns in 2007) will make it happen for the Blues in the near future.
Good things take time. We've shown good signs this year, in terms of competitiveness and commitment (albeit it strays at times, at least 1 quarter per game).
Pagan's unlikely to be here next year. While our team has improved individually, we have gone backwards as a team. Both concepts are world's apart. Individual improvement can or cannot be because of the caoch, there are many reason why footballers improve individaully, but improving as a team is down to the coach, an area where we have failed badly.
