Fev has kicked 255 goals in his last 79 games. So in the worst performed side in the last 4 seasons (half the time on 3 defenders) he has averaged just under 3.5 goals a game.

SO WHAT HAS HE TURNED AROUND? NOTHING

He's hardly "just come good this year"

He was already a gun now he's taken the next step to superstar. Sure he's improved lifestyle etc etc but he has turned nothing around!!

Ps You can crap on about the media but how many people on this site were complaining about his new contact worth 450k a year and wanted him traded anyway? 450K has turned into a bargain!

this year he has averaged 4.28 goals a game, for the 3 previous years he averaged 2.91 goals a game.

but its not all about goals, rather its the fact that he's off the booze, is dedicated and committed, is really helping the younger blokes and is just an out and out great clubman who wants to improve himself and his club as much as he probably can.

also, his chasing and tackling have been a great feture to his game this year not to mention him not spitting the dummy anymore and being much more controlled and a better leader on the field.

Loved Hollywood Fevola since he arrived at Carlton - was excellent 2004 2005 and absolute elite 2006- as for $450 000 worth every dollar in terms of ability - ability to inspire youngsters - inspire the supporters - How many rose to their feet and cheered on Sunday even on a dirty day when he kicked that goal from the pocket after a one -handed pick up -simply outstanding
Scotto as you know a few of us have been pre-disposed to this guy and defended him for a long time 8)
The only blemish the last couple of year has been a couple of silly reports and now he seems to have that covered

This is the thing that annoys me the most. All of the media, opposition clubs and even our own great club criticised the guy and undervalued him last year and did not and would not factor in his injury.

And yet a bunch of supporters 100 metres away in the stands could identify the injury almost from the point it happened in the Brisbane game. It just staggers me.

And I still get angry when I think about that three ring circus during trade week and the stress I felt at the thought of Fev being traded.

In the meantime while we have run our players down before trade attempts or afraid to trade them fullstop.. but have tried to cling onto them..

what have Hawthorn got for 2 huge duds and Thompson???

The club did manage to convince Fev to sign a $450k pa deal didn't they? If that's undervalued, how much would you have offered him?

The fact the club would even contemplate moving him on is an idictman on the whole place and demonstartes what a rabble we are.

Have a look at last week's game for example - We should actually be changing our name to the "Fevola Football Club" and have the whole team wearing a "25" on the front instead of a "CFC".

That's what a massive part of the team's success he comprises.

Easy to say in retrospect Mr Harris. Fev's antics were making it hard on the club and himself this time last year.

Maybe Fevs attitude was wrong.

But the club was negligent with his mind by getting him to play injured for the full season.

Because theyre a rabble!!!

Watching ABC News last night during the sport section where they showed some footage of Kouta in action.

It was the Richmond game from the phone dome last year and Kouta sped through the centre toward goal. The first shot from ground level saw Fev in the foreground leading to the flank, he realises Kouta is going for goal directly in front 35m out. His body language is less than encouraging.

The wide shot shows the ball sailing through the goals and at the bottom of the screen we see Fev cracking the shits  because he wasn't passed the ball  .

Now, I'll give him credit for this year before anyone here for a great job sorting out his issues, but please, let's not be blinded by the fact that he has had many issues brought on by himself for the previous 6 years.

It's a credit to him, the club and the coach that he is where he is today - he needs another 2-3 years like it to erase his past.

Dukes I agree.

I was one who at the time thought that at the right price and only at the right price we trade him. I'm stoked we never did.

Fevola himself has categorically stated that his attitude and approach was WRONG. Great he has done something about it this year - lets hope it continues for another 5. He now is our marquee player and is on the verge of winning a fantastic individual honor - the Coleman medal.

I'm talking about later in the year when he was clearly suffering from injury. He couldn't kick the ball 40 metres, he would be 50 metres out and look to pass off immediately. He was getting hammered in the press, Pagan didn't once stick up for him. Libba was on radio saying "I can't tell you what I would like to do to him". The club were getting hammered for signing him for $450k and instead of sticking up for him and admit he was unjured (like any other club would), we denied there was anything wrong with him and hung him out to dry.

Make no mistake, in the second half of the season they undervalued him.

he has been our marquee player for the past 4 years ... the droves of people wanting his autograph, and him being the only player that is courted by the media has been evidence of that.

He was sadly undervalued by many last year ...
