Given the obvious level of dissatisfaction happening, if this board is any yardstick, it's a pretty pissweak survey.

there was no input for suggestions, nothing specific about interstate membership, etc.

I don't think it will achieve much overall.

Did you miss Q66?

There was a field for both 2005 and 2006 members and also directions if you wanted to leave more detailed feedback at the bottom of the email. (I completed the survey using the website, not the email form.)

I also used the website, but must have missed that.

Haven't received one myself & generally receive emails from the club. Is that because I'm an AFL/ Carlton member and they're not interested in our opinion? Have any AFL members received them?

Just discovered it at my old email address though generally now receive emails from club at new address. Lucky I still checked it otherwise I wouldn't have known.

I am an AFL/Carlton member and received the survey yesterday.

I admit most of my scores were 0. Some questions needed to have a negative number..........such as the financial performance and on-field performance of the club!!

[quote="Wet Willie"]Why not survey people WHO USED TO BE MEMBERS???

Why not survey people WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN MEMBERS???quote]

Try privacy issues and just the fact if they have never been members they won't have their contact details :x

A bit of logic on this site before criticising everyone involved at the club wouldn't go astray ATM.

Perhaps they actually have surveyed/called non members

I don't think there would be too many on this site, so we might not know.

Did fullmont eventually sign up?

I let rip at the club, giving them very low scores, on things such as brand image, presentation of membership packages and on-field performances. I gave the players' effort a 6 because I perceive that they are trying and are capable but something's not right. Hopefully, some ammunition for them to fire the coach.

Interesting that they asked about on field performance, effort and the like from players, but nothing on the coaching staff at all!

"Is there anything else you would like to see in the Kernahan room?"

How about the field?

How about everyone who didn't get it, give the club a call and say "hey! I'd like to fill one out, can you send it to me? And make sure my details are correctly on file please."

The funny thing is I made sure my details were correct when I signed up this year at the club. You shouldn't need to ask to fill out a members survey, they have our membership details, they sent the membership pack to the correct address, its simply poor management on another level and an example of how the club has been run this century.

Which survey will give you a better business return - considering the position we are currently in?

This would assume the club can't do both, which it obviously can, and we don't know that they haven't been surveying outside the membership base.

The retention of existing members would have to be a very high priority given the drop-off rate from last year's number of members, so if they were not surveying existing members (which they also did last year), then I would be very disappointed.

There are two issues here regarding people getting or not getting a survey.

1. The nature of bulk email. I do an email every month to over 2500 people and for a variety of reasons a number of those will always bounce. You can have the right address but depending on the format of the email many service providers wil screen out an email if their filtering picks up on something that it doesn't like.

2. It's a fair bet that the club don't want 30,000 replies to a survey. The whole point of a survey is that it's a sample of the population/members and gives you an idea of what people are thinking. If 1000 people reply the club will have plenty of data to use for their survey report.

Considering how strapped the club is for resources the prospect of them sitting down to read 30,000 surveys would not be a particularly bright move.

I think the survey was done through an independent organisation on behalf of the club.

I did not renew my membership from last year and would have liked to have taken the survey. 8)

Read between the lines............the survey is full of 'loaded' questions.

I'd say this survey and the results will be used to further justify change especially in the 'football' department.
