I wouldn't give up beating Collingwood!

Maybe a trade that could have French (risky cause he is still coming on) and Deluca. I will take pick 60

French. Still coming on? at 30 he should already be here. In that case he may be ready at 45

Would Lance or Waite or Fisher or Houlihan get a pick inside 25 :?:

Out of Fisher, Whitnall, Waite & Stevens I think the only one we would get a top 20 for this year would be Stevo, and I would be reluctant to go for that trade (sorry BH)

Your loss.

Stevens in a heartbeat.

But I fear no one would take Stevens for pick 19 now.

To many variables to answer. If the players were to be ontraded as part of three way swaps, I could see Livo and Deluca, as one package plus swap of 4th round selctions depending on club.

I could see clubs asking for but not getting Fisher.

I could see Wiggins included somewhere, but he has just turned the corner. So does the club go for it ?

I could see Lance being wanted but the club would want 19 plus if it was to be Red.

I could see AB being offered, as people in the know, really do know his worth and upside... But the club would need to be extremely certain about Blackwell and Smith.

Too many options not enough time.... But good question BV....

Now where is your answer? 8)

So if we get the PP does that mean we have to use it on another Whitnall...? :(

To get 19/10 we would have to give up at least 1 quality established player whitnall/stevens and add a taster livo wiggins only way i could see it going down

BV...agree with you completely that we're better off with short term pain (losing) and long term gain (PP).

However, in answer to your question about what we'd give up for pick 19, I can't believe what I am reading on this thread. Stevens, Whitnall, Waite and even Houlhan have all proved themselves capable of playing AFL foty, and people want to throw them out for an unproven kid picked at 19?? Amazing, even in a so-called deep draft.

And the crap that Waite cops on this site astounds me. Yes, he hasn't reached his 'true potential' yet. But he has had injuries, and has been played completely out of position for a year and a half. He is not a CHF. He is a flamker, a winger, a roamer. He is 23, and is 4-3 years away from his peak. Even slow gradual improvement over that time will see him become a top level footballer.

Personally, as I have said on other threads, I would like to see him left to develop as a CHB. Regardless, he is going to be a very, very good player for the Carlton Footy Club for the next 10 years.

In answer to your question...and this is without any knowledge of the player expected to go 15-25 in the draft, I don't think that anyone I would be perpared to give up would be acceptable to any other clubs. Players like Houlihan and Scotland are around about the mark, I suspect, but I certainly wouldn't give up Scotland for an unknown prospect at 19, and remamber, Houlihan is 24 with 135 games already under his belt. If he plays till 32 without major injury, he'll be a 250-300 game player. He may not be the hardest player going around (yeah, I know, understatement), but he plays a role and there is definitely a place for him. And he will only get better as the team gets better, which will allow him to use his creative flair more.

Waites problem is he shirks responsibility.
23/24 he has delivered very little resonsibility to help his younger team mates out.

waitey is not peter pan....
