Said in a radio interview today that a rival ticket was prepared to take on the board once the season finished.
Said there were some ``very wealthy supporters'' willing to put money into the club if the board goes.
Also dumped on Pagan, saying he was surprised he was still at the club given his poor record.
Questioned his game plan our young players, that he ``really finds it exceptionally difficult to coach'' after a number of successive defeats and was surprised he was allowed to run the football department and get his own support staff _ something previous coaches had never been allowed.
Cited ``people he is still very close to'' as his sources. Reckons he has spoken with wealthy supporters ready to pump money in.

Jeeez that's quite a shock! Never would've expected that from Elliott's mouth! But yeah that seems to echo most people's thoughts these days as they can see that's the things that need to be changed.

Interesting about the rival ticket! Hopefully he's right!
Thanks for passing that on Kenny.

I hope not.

If you are confident they are good enough, put up some board members up for this year (you can get 3 in if you want).

If they are good enough they are good enough.

Don't do stuff purely for revenge.

Typical Elliot crapola.

Holding the club to 'ransom' with the promise of 'benefactors' is pathetic.

John Elliot is full of shit. he's a pathological liar. thing is he actually believes what he is saying.

no one on the other hand can believe a word that comes out of his mouth. he's dellussional, and while what he says about Pagan is probably true, the crap about wealthy supporters tipping in money is drivel.

Relying on wealthy supporters is one of the reasons the club is in such a shit right now. The football club needs to build a supporterbase, more members and more supporters at games and attract sponsors through marketing and most of all a good football team. Wealthy supporters tipping in should be nothing more than a bonus.

Yeah fair point mate but I think it's a resource we shouldn't say no too either. If we had some of these supporters pumping money in we could hopefully use it to take more initiatives in building a bigger supporter base etc. instead of paying off debts. Surely untying the clubs hands from those debts will help us move onwards in those fields!

I named my cat after Jack Elliot.

Big Jack made too much sense today. I'm very excited by some of his comments, if the rumour of a ticket to form are true. Jack may not make a good president anymore, but you can't question his connections and comments of today.

How could anybody believe anything that comes out of Jacks mouth given his past history of lies that crippled our club..

I reckon he's right, but I don't think he has any (unofficial even) involvement in it given that SOS was one of the men in the AFL's Corporate box at the Richmond game.

For those who missed the interview, let me sum up the whole thing up for you with a single passage:

3AW: Are you interested in once again being in charge of the carlton football club?

Elliot: Look, that's not for me to say...blah...blah...

Interviewers too stupid to know that ASIC banned Elliot from taking any form of directorship for 10 years. Which means he's incapable, by law, of sitting on the board of the CFC, let alone being president.

And subject too deluded or dishonest to answer the question thus: I'd love to, but I've been barred from sitting on boards for the next decade.

The whole thing was a stinking piece of crap.

But do you know the worst thing about it?

IT'S CARLTON VS COLLINGWOOD AND THE TWO PEOPLE 3AW INTERVIEW IS EDDIE MCGUIRE AND JOHN ELLIOT! Hmmmm. And there I was thinking the members chucked that bloke out years ago.

I think the problem is that elliot is good for radio (not necessarily for carlton) he is dial a quote and entertaining to the wider radio audience.
We need a frontman that people want to listen to

smorgon... vanilla
pagan... wearing thin and hates media.
fotball manager grant williams .. anyone ever heard this guy say anything??

you have blokes like sheedy at Essendon*.. old bastard but still is passionate and interesting and full of shit.

wallace and miller at Essendon*..

etc etc etc...

they will always return to elliot till we fix that side of things.

You're right on the dial-a-quote with Elliott. People just laugh at him because they know he'll say something daft. Agree we need some sort off field media personality in a strong role at the club to be able to generate some impetus for us off the field.

and would have turned it off if I had- the club is still suffering badly from the work of this buffoon as are all the companies that he was in charge of -he is not a spokesman for CARLTON - he is not relevant and his opinion is not required - just getting cheap copy for a radio station desperate for ratings and sensationalism [/b]
