It was great game and the final score really flattered the scum.

Eddie's goal of the year was truly a thing to behold.
Carlos was great.
Simmo was wonderful.
Tex is growing in leaps and bounds.
Lance interviewed for the captains job by flying the flag.
Kouta was very good.
Bower had a great debut.
Sporn was very good - now I am not sure what to do with him. :?
Scotland was brave.
Carazzo did an exceptional job on Heath Shaw.

Happy with the game and the progress we made - I like our fight and I love how we smashed them in the first quarter.

Obviously, there is only one way to go but I am very pleased with what we displayed yesterday given the number of players we had out.

Setanta?????

Here you go Beano, this is from the Herald Sun's review of the game - "Setanta O'hAilpin had four opponents and no goals kicked on him.

He's looked raw and ungainly, but Setanta does so many positive acts his future is becoming more secure by the week." This is from a journo who would barely ahve known who Setanta was a few weeks ago. A number of the football media are now realising that Setanta is an exciting prospect and focussing on him.

Given Carrazzo's effort on the bloke everyone is tipping to with the Rising Star award, he may get a NRS nomination this week.

Simmo only re-affirmed what we already thought about him. I love his guts and determination. He missed that goal on the run and then did everything he could and set up the very next goal no more than a minute later. An absolute star.

Setanta was great, not afraid to play on, he does it every time.

Bower was great in his first game and with some bulk i could definately see him instead of waite holding down the CHB position in a cornes/grant mould.

Walker tries so hard to get the ball but his disposal still seems to let him down.

Sporn was great, hopefully the trade feelers from other clubs are now out...

WE DIDNT TAKE ANY SHIT....best positive all day....

Just watched the replay and was really impressed with Bower's game. He wasn't a supertsar or anything, but he seems to have picked up the pace of the game pretty well, looks nice and mobile and not afraid to use both feet. I hope he has a solid pre-season and makes a big impact in 07.

Santy has courage and determination written all over him. He still looks a bit ungainly and out of place at times, but by gee he's not afraid to back himself. He did some good defensive stuff today and with some of his marks you can see the potential for a good rebounding defender.

I thought Waite actually played pretty well today. I still reckon we should try and develop him as a CHB in the Grant/Cornes mould.

Fisher too was okay around the ground providing options and some of his field kicking was okay. Sadly, some of his field kicking was still rubbish too.

Fev continued to provide plenty up front too and got a few nice assists in there. Another step in his development seeing he was pretty well held by Presti and Clement, but was still disciplined and mature enough to have some impact on the game.

Shame we buggered up those three early shots in the last quarter though! (Sorry!)

re: Fisher...has some problems...takes a good grab but cant kick over a jam jar and I also think he hasnt improved with his kicking over time..has got worse...if its injuries then allow him to get them right but we cant have a player in our forward line who cant kick 40m with some accuracy..

Loved Walkers game and the fact that that tackled has hopefully destroyed the rest of Clokes season. Im sick of seeing our boys smashed like rag dolls and want to see up start hurting more and more opposition players. After all these years of misery I want to see the pain erased but showing no mercy and ruthlessly destoying the opposition - Walker showed us a glimpse.

A positive for me is that the Didak incident reaffirmed that Malthouse is a f&%kwit who has a serious attitude problem.

Our draftee class of '05 really excites me. They're all gunna be great I reckon.

The way PB adapted to the faster AFL tempo was the biggest positive for me yesterday and was great to see. Just needs gametime to learn the tricks of the trade.

Blackers was great ...lifted to the occasion I thought.

Setanta learning learning learning learning learning :-D

Simmo = CAPTAIN!!!!!!!!

The hugest positive was Setanta in my opinion.
He didnt have a pretend role like the keeper of the Penske file... he is going to mirror what he did in Hurling where the Cork fans watched him grow before their very eyes.

I gotta admit earlier in the year I doubted whether this lad would make it - not so much for the determination, moreso with the decision making and skills.

His last few weeks in the seniors have been great and I'm convinced now that at this rate of improvement he will make it. Still needs development in a couple of areas of his game, but that will be worked on over the preseason and games next year. Loved the confidence to play on and run when he took marks.

And boy ive hardly seen a player as quick for their size as Setanta!!...

I dont think i can recall 1 error by disposal of his yesterday... He tries his heart out!... I think he will make the grade...

Perhaps in 1 or 2 years time we can try him out in the ruck, however i think its a good education to leave him in the backline for a while... While is raw and ungainly, he is an exciting prospect!..

Best Game of the year...By FAR!

Walks tackle ...don't like seeing a player get injured, but love knowing that the tackles are "felt"!

Bower...so is he a lefty or a right footer!
Players standing up for themselves and each other...
Bett's goal....
Kouta turned back the clock
Whitts smashed the pack....

Goldspink confirmed he is a complete D&^%head...probably drafting his heiry email as we speak ....

we lost by 44 points?? - four goals to the umps and two to Bannister....
So was there any diff between the sides?

...and watching Pies supporters get all excited about September.....

Like I said...game of the year!

Scottland's second half after getting that "bump" was inspiring…well done to him

The flower waving the wooden spoon around will get to watch a team finish 6th...then maybe 6th again

We're on the rise

I didn't see much of the footage regarding the spoon, but was someone wearing a grim reapers outfit?

Let's take a look at some of the Pies top players this year and let's see what we have in terms of AGE.

Figjam - 34
Burns/Albino - 32
Clement - 30 [in Sept]
Licuria 28 [29 in Jan]
Presti 28 [29 in Jan]
Rocca - 29 and blessedly unfit - does anyone suck up as much oxygen as this guy when going for the ball?
Wakelin - 32

They are an ageing team and those that are not past 30 are too slow.

Expect them to bottom out in 2008 when Figjam disappears

i never thought i'd got out a buy a 44 point loss to collingwood on dvd, but i'm about too.

i only saw the 9 highlights package (after qtr time) but that was fuggen impressive.

if lance had of kicked that goal we would have been 2 points down with a couple of minutes left in the third and who knows.

we still get punished for turnovers and mistakes but that game was very enjoyable.

bower looked great and was very stiff for the 50m penalty.

the thing that impressed me about setanta was whenever he ran himself in to trouble he still had the composure to get a clean disposal out

May I recommend a game that was played approximately 36 years ago - the deficit was 44 points at half time and we went on to win the game, far more enjoyable.
