I don't really think anyone did themselves any favours yesterday. Fev got carried away and acted like a shitty petulant kid, Lance didn't do much at all, and Kouta faded after a cracking start.

So... that leaves us with Simmo and Walker.

Co-Captains, anyone?

the problem with giving it one of them is that our club wont have the balls to take it off them when murphy is ready to be captain.

atm, i think they'd make the best captains at our team but we have to plan ahead as well.

I wouldn't be upset with that. :)

Just a thought.............................................

Why not adopt a 'Swans' approach to our next Captain.

Have Lance as the 'Main' captain (Ie Barry Hall) but add in Fevola and Simpson as Co-Captains.

Captain FEV is in charge of the Forwad line
Captain Lance is leader of the Defence Zone
Captain Simpson is director of the Midfield Area!

Mate, i'm telling ya, Simpson is a Captain in waiting. He talks to the players on the field. Yells out instructions, directs play, etc, etc, etc.

Fev has become a brilliant playmaker in that forward 50 zone and if can't mark it himself, he knows plenty of ways to dish it of to others so that they can.

And Lance is just Lance...............

Simmo and Walker are simply not ready, they're still becoming footballers. Although I agree that Simpson is more and more impressive every week.

Think about it...Hodge has said up till now that he is not ready for the captaincy at Hawthorn (only now does he feel ready), and he is 2 seasons ahead of those guys. They need to be left to become top line footballers, last thing we need to is retard the development of any of players by burdening them with the captaincy.

Still don't believe that Fev has earned it for long enough. My hat is still in the Whitnall camp, although he didn't do himself any favours on Sunday. Maybe he was trying too hard to show leadership, and overstepped. Fev did a bit of the same actually, just didn't give away the stupid free kick.

Kouta to stay on for another year may in the end be the best bet, although if they went down that path, it would tell the rest of the football world just what the MC thinks of our leadership group.

It was nice to read that Fev is not looking forward to Mad Monday, rather than spending time with his new daughter.

Fev for Captaino in 2007!

I actually dont want Simpson to be our Captain yet... I think he should be in the leadership group for next year, he'd be perfect for it... but I just dont think he is ready to be 'Captain' yet. I think we should wait.. he still has so much to give to us, I am so proud of my Emerald boy :P
