I'm pleased there has been improvement in many players' development this year. Whilst the games won this year has not improved from last year, there have been the makings of a very solid & sound foundation to our next premiership assault between 2008-2014

However, I still expect to finish in the bottom 4 next year - which was what my prediction was for this year!!! Whether this means we get a 1st Round PP, that remains to be seen.

Where did I put those razor blades? :P

Actually Denis is "trying as hard as he can" Danny.
But it's like buying flowers for your wife after you've been caught shagging her sister, nice try but the damage is done. 8)

hey you're even starting to sound like him.

Actually desopite his drawbacks, there is something begining to build at Carlton. Two mor eyears, two more years of msucle and miles, of time spent on the ground  for the youngsters but I am happy.

Can't wait to see Raso, Edwards, Hartlett and co given their goes.

I am pleased with all those players Danny talked about but would have a question mark over Jordan Russell...dont get me wrong I like the character of the lad, he seems mature and I wish him success but am not sure if he has the mental toughness to make it...

I would have to agree there....

I Can't see us managing to pull off the trifecta in draft picks....

We just held on to get Murph (includes father son miracle) and Kennedy (PP), This year we will get Gibbs/Hansen + a priority pick again...Lets not forget a draw in each year. So if we get the priority pick next year it will be a major miracle...

I would be happy with a top 3 pick and pick 19 or 20......

Anything is possible but......

Despite our Spoon I think we have improved and while I don't need shades when I look at our future, at least it is not utterly obscured by endless black cloud.

Very pleased with:
Simmo, lets hope a few other youngsters take his great leap of form and confidence
Setanta - improvement during the year has been great . Marking looked a problem last year and early this year, and also jumping technique. Recently he has plucked a number of strong contested marks. His ball handling is good and when he runs he is really exciting. Half Back Line of Walker O'hAilpin, Bower might get the ball moving forward.
TBird Back to his best. teriffic performer against the oppos best forwards in a backline always under pressure.
Walker Big strides forward. Reckon time in defensive half will aid development. Tough and very classy, just needs to work on disposal
Bower One game looks the goods, great size and will get much bigger, pace and agility.
Murph - we need to protect him more
Eddie Betts - Hope is senior teammates on the forward line can learn a bit about forward pressure from Eddie. It is not about chasing when you think you can catch your man, it is about always trying to chase. Eddie is a wonderful tackler and harrasser. (Waite and Fev take note)
Fev - superb season. Our most exciting forward since the Buzz, and while his 1%s have improved, needs to consistently harrass and chase and contest as the Buzz did - Buzz's defensive skills were second to none.
French - maligned, average talent but in second half of the season has performed well. A great example of determination and effort, represents the club well
Bentick - not a masive talent but great worker and really tough, needs more talent around him to help him out
Scotland Bit of class and wins the ball really well but I wish he would run forward with it instead of always doing UTurns
Whitnall good year, gets caught out zoning off but we need some attack from defence and despite constant criticism, he runs a long way in games presenting and attacking. Unfairly maligned I think
Blackwell Looks to have real class, don't object to limited game time, want him blossoming in 08, don't want him hammered into oblivion by then
Josh K Injury, little opportunity, looks a great type.

Reasonabgly pleased
Wiggo maybe he will make it, love his kamakazi approach and may become a reasonable tough Hamill like player (without the outrageous salary)
Fish Can mark, too slow to move it on and needs to add 10 metres to his kicking depth and needs to be much more reliable shot for goal
Carazzo Great hands and tough and willing -kicking as per Fish
Banno Offers something and should stay on list, had bad one this week but has been good and creative
McGrath - maligned, but sets great example with work ethic on field and at training and has been a good contributor should be retained
Russell Has looked promsing and tackles well, but he has dropped his head at least four times in marking contest in 1s and with Ants. Must eradicate this.
Jackson- haven't seen a lot of him but smooth mover, has a bit of the Rolls Royce about him....and can actually kick a footy
Ordinary season, but feel more hoepful than I have for some time. Need a great draft, and a few of our young players to make the great leap forward and things will start looking good in 09/10
