Oh please

Aside from calling you the great Synbad, I made no snipes. I offered arguments to your points, and you responded with petty taunts.

Not a problem Sir.

I'd love to have an informed proper discussion with you or anyone about negative rhetoric and how Carlton can move forward that doesn't end up with boring pot shots, perhaps over coffee - I'll put the kettle on, do you take it white or black?

Synbad,

If you want to talk coffee, let's go!

I think that Antoine de Saint-Exupery probably drank ristretto's. As shown by his quote;

"In anything at all, perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away."

Whilst a ristretto is coffee heaven many also wonder whether it is too gourmet? Is it too out there? Is it all just frivolous posturing? Should we try and get more people to master the short pour before we challenge their manhood by requesting the shortest pour?

To me this all resonates with your view of Carlton

regards
Ockham

Synbad i agree Lance would of been sensational in the 70's, heck sensational even in the 80's.

Which leads me to the following question: "how would the carlton board circa 2002 -2006 stack up against our boards of the 60's, 70's and 80's?"

Synbad,

After having read many of your 7440 posts banging on along a similar vein, no matter how simple you think I am, I have a fairly clear view of what your view of Carlton is!

As to coffee, I thought that it was rather apt that you chose the ristretto, the one for those who enjoy frivolous posturing - sounds very much like you.

regards

Ockham

how about we ALL stop the posturing and vague and not so vague digs at each others character?

It is very tiring and ceased to be amusing a long time ago.

You can pull whatever you like & it seems you often do, however, I have a barrista that pours my coffee for me.
