Was having a chat with a mate the other day, about our prospects for next year. We got around to discussing which teams, if any, would finish below us next year.

So I invite the luminaries here to profer their opinions as to which teams they think will finish below us in 2007...

Come back in a few weeks when we know if we've changed our coach.

Maybe Kangas
Maybe bombers.

Look at Brisbane's injury list - a lot of upside there. Agree on the other two.

I think we'll have 6-9 wins in 2007...so we'll have 2-3 teams below us. I'd say these would be made up of Kangaroos, Brisbane and possibly Essendon* and Richmond (as with previous Wallace coached teams - the opposition coaches will work them out and they will slide to 12th/13th).

Kangaroos the only possibility. Any significant injuries to us and we will finish bottom for sure.

Essendon* is a much stronger club than a rabble club like us - and they will finish above us.

We might be a rabble off-field, but on-field we're 2 years ahead of Essendon*, IMO.

Lock in Essendon* and the Kangaroos. I reckon we'll beat both of them. New coach, new draft picks, and a few years' of development in our younger players should see us in comparatively good stead (compared to what we've been seeing anyway).

There may be another team which has severe injuries and therefore falls below expectations. Look what happened to Adelaide as soon as their medical room started to get full. If that happened to a Geelong, or a Port, or a Richmond then they could easily fall below us next season.

Blardy pessimists!

We'll have the Brownlow medallist and the Coleman medallist next year!
Plus - when teams hit the skids it can be a quick fall from grace!

We'll beat:

Hawthorn
Essendon*
Richmond
North
Collingwood
Brisbane
Port

and finish 9th!

Kangaroos, Essendon* and Brisbane below us.

Adelaide to slide considerably.

Some people on this site are suggesting Collingwood, Richmond and Melbourne will be below us however they all have some good kids.

we really need a pesimist forum on here, i stay away a bit more because its all doom and gloom at talkingcarlton. i liked that blueskies article, it made me smile. I think that we will win around 10 games next year. As when you look at alot of our losses they were by very little and we copped very few hidings and none over 100 points i think. we have alot of good ones coming through and really there will be alot of movement over the preseason. i also wouldnt mind seeing pagan relieved of his duties, not because he is a bad coach but just because it is time for a move for the future, not a step back to the past. anyways enough of that to finish below us i would suggest: Essendon*, north melbourne, brisbane, port adelaide. go blue baggers.
