We are in for an interesting time on this forum over the next couple of seasons.

If the Blues start to climb the ladder, the Pagan supporters will bring out the "told you so" lines, while the Pagan detractors will probably use the Grant Thomas argument of "with our list we had to get better".

With that in mind, where do you think good coaching / recruiting / development (whether it comes from Pagan or his replacement) should have us over the next few seasons?

For mine, finals in 2008 followed by a 4 year "Premiership Window" where we should be making prelims, GFs, and hopefully snagging a Premiership (or four).

A sneak finals birth in 2009 and then by 2011 be a genuine contender

7 wins in '07 and then reassess from there. Pagan has had the time to develop the list, he's got games into a lot of kids, some of which are approaching the 50 game mark, and early draft picks for 2 seasons now.

Through in some maturing bodies over the preseason, and I think we need to see improvement in terms of wins next year. Otherwise, I think the club will find a way to remove Denis for the '08 season, fat contract or not.

I hope we sack pagan and start climbing the ladder as of next season.... I'd be aiming, like Steve, at about 7 wins.

Tanking is smart but it has its limits.... and this is it.

We need a coach who has vision and is not afraid to make gutsy decisions that can take the club forward, like restructure our coaching, and trade Stevens and Whitnall.... 2 guys whose hearts either aren't in it or the game has passed.... if we make some gutsy decisions and trade senior players, then I'd still expect 7 wins.

Pick Gibbs and I'd be expecting a finals berth

I agree we need a coach who is "not afraid" but for me the not afraid part should be - not be afraid of having faith in playing the kids
