Clinton Grab-arse said on WLF last night in reference to MOTY that the car was "On Loan" for 12 months according to the fine print.

Clinton was very surprised as was the rest of the panel. I assume that goes for GOTY as well??

I'm chasing this up with someone that I know - sounds frugal on the part of Toyota and the AFL.)

It turns out Toyota loans the cars because the players sell them, which is not good form from Toyota's point of view. :?

Someone needs to get in touch with their marketing department, cause loaning a car for goal of the year is pure crap.

I'd rather win a microwave than have to drive a piece of shit Camry for a year :?

We're pretty lucky to get the goal, and mark, of the year in one weekend.

Second prize is a two year loan of a Camry.

Its actually the Aurian V6 - it looks prettier than the Camry

They also get $10,000 for their grassroots Club from Toyota - whoopee doo

thats the worst thing I ever heard

if the players want to sell the cars, they should have every right to.... if I "won" a loan of a Camry for 12 months, I would thrash it within an inch of its life

"loan of a car" if you win

:garthp:

No argument there Tyrant but I would imagine that most young guys playing AFL would trade in the Toyota for a Ford or a Holden if they win - doesn't look good if the winner is driving a competitors car a week after he wins it.
