Wide variety of opinions
Get Gardiner
Don't get Gardiner
Keep Smorgon
Keep Pagan
Sack Pagan
Sack Smorgon
Get Brown
Board shouldn't be holding Denis hand

Just repeated the youth policy, said that anyone who didn't fit the policy wasn't in the frame.

SEN guys brought up Gardiner specifically and Smorgon said he wasn't going to talk about individuals. SEN guys pressed that Gardiner didn't fit the policy so therefore was he totally out of the question and Smorgon repeated if they didn't fit, the club wouldn't pick them and said the SEN boys should draw their own conclusions.

Sounds like we won't be getting Gardiner.

I feel embarrassed that the club that I have loved and supported for 20 years is currently being steered by such a clueless dolt. Why make a press release about the club's intentions and then when questioned over it pretend like every club does it? "We're just continuing with the youth policy that we've had for the last couple of years" This the same staunch under 25 youth policy that we had in place last year when we recruited a 26 year old?

I guess Smorgan could have said that he got the AFL to reverse the draft penalties in 2002/03 and we would have picks 1,2,3,5 in this draft and picks 1,2 in next years draft and he would still be criticised.

CG I thought a man with vision like yourself would realise that if we get all those draft picks it will only eventuate in Cap pressure 4-5 years down the track.

What do you suggest we do then Oh holy one - Bring in Fraser Brown and the lunch bags again

Yeah, we wouldn't want cap pressure and have to offload one of our STARS for pick 5 in a draft would we? I think I would much rather finish mid table every year and have no cap pressure. I have seen the light now, thankyou Sydney Pink.

So we go through years of heartache finishing at the bottom to obtain lots of draft picks then we follow that up with 3-4 years of development and more heartache and then when we get the the point where we are chock full of stars and under cap pressure we then un load them for a pick 5 in the draft . CG you are a nong - the top 4 sides this year have for years finished there abouts in fact the favourites the swans have played finals for 9 out of the last 11 years . Explain to me CG how they managed that and the draft pick kings the saints (your holy friends) seem to bow out every year because there side is out of balance . To many big names on big money and not enough in the middle .

Carlton God you disappoint me

Hey PINKY, Where did I say I wanted to finish on the bottom for years to come and go through more heartache? WHy are you making rubbish up? You can't be as dumb as I think you are.

You mean other than advocating that we tank next year as well?

Did anyone watch CH7 News. Smorgon was on and they had Gardiner in the same story. I'm at work but was on the phone at the time so I didn't get to hear the story.
