Just heard on SEN. They have spoken with Geoff Poulter of the HUN.

There will be an article by Jim Wilson tomorrow, stating that Fraser Brown, possibly Daniel Grollo, Andrew McKay will challenge the board prior to the December election - I think four positions up for grabs. May give ultimatum to Smorgo to resign.

There will also be a comment piece that Denis is still most definitely at risk. Should be a good read.

Apologies if this has already been posted.

A group, which includes premiership player Fraser Brown, intends delivering Smorgon the ultimatum: resign or be hit with a no-confidence motion at an extraordinary general meeting.

Brown's group is plotting Smorgon's removal along with most of his board and will seek the support of Anthony Pratt, son of Carlton's wealthiest and most influential supporter, Richard.

Brown's 1995 premiership teammate Andrew McKay may also be part of the board challenge.

When Black Friday occured, I thought that we'd have a tough 5 years and then come good. After 4 years, I reckon we are still 5 years away from becoming he club we should be. By that I only mean that we will be a professionally run club, have a sound business plan, have good facilities and a list strong enough to give us at least a shot of winning every week.

Can someone please wake me in another 5 years...

So bringing forward the meeting to December has been confirmed now? Or would it be an EGM in Dec and the AGM in March?

Be much better to do it all at once. Less costly. Get it over & done with.

If a challange is made, it should be made NOW, TODAY, else forget it.

We are doing ourselves a great more harm with this backstabbing, infighting and indecisiveness. We have already lost one player through this prediciment. We need to be as one going into the trade period and with only a week to go, I am really starting to feel we have lost another opportunity to capitalise on our position.

Mad Dog .... Challange now put your team in place (admin/coaches) next week and lets all move on or let it be.

Whether or not you agree with what is being done, it highlights the fact that March or even December is a silly time for annual meetings/changing directors. Surely around the end of the season makes more sense, if the wish of a new regime is to change the coach

Once the new ticket get their 100 signatures to force an emergency meeting....how long until the meeting has to be convened?? :?:

If that does happen, who is entitled to vote at meetings like this? I am an AFL member with Carlton support package. Am I eligible??

The Football Club as an entity which we once knew and loved is dead.

What with "The Spew's" comments about Geelongs upcoming Extraordinary General Meeting and the AFL interfering in our Football Department review, club members should just hand in all voting rights and the AFL should just describe Football Clubs for what they are:

Franchises - with the AFL being the Master Franchisee and calling all the shots about club management etc - members are now superfluous and are just stupid sops who pay their money upfront to give the AFL much needed up-front revenue during the summer months.

THE FOOTBALL CLUB AND THE VOTING FOOTBALL CLUB MEMBER IS DEAD AND A QUAINT ANACHRONISM FROM DAYS PAST.

Welcome to world's best practice.
