Great Letter however, your only problem with this approach is that you are under the misaprehension that Demetrispew is a 'diplomat' and a 'statesman'.

Unfortunately he is an arrogant tosser who has been 'Peter Principled' way above his level of competence. What's worse he has his nose firmly esconsed in Ron "Is this a piece of your brain" Evan's arse so you want get any comfort there either.

Club should forcibly ask the AFL for the priority pick taken off us in 2002, arguing the priority pick shouldn't have been taken off us (it wasn't the following year!). Club should also forcibly ask the AFL for the priority pick we deserve for being insipid the past two years, arguing it's unjust to penalise us for having a draw against Port. That little draw is costing us a quality player we desperately need. Club should seek both priority picks, and hope the AFL gives us one of them as a compromise. Club should also argue that due to the absense of an early priority pick this year, and the fact the first 7 or 8 players taken in this year's draft would likely go No.1 in any normal draft, that at present we do not stand to benefit relative to other clubs in this year's draft, and that Geelong actually stands to prosper the most out of this draft. Again this is unjust. Pretty simple really, but then this board is pretty simple too. Everything about all of this is just so unfair, our board would be seriously negligible if it didn't take the fight up to the AFL in a big way.

The AFL wont budge on the pick because there is no firepower from the board

You are spot on there, our board is seriously negligible.

We have to be careful not to take our eye off the ball here. This is a nice little distraction for the board but our current problems should be our main concern.
Let our board pursue this. It reminds me of Elliot reaching for Pagan as his deathbed saviour.

Our club is a farce at the moment and chasing priority picks doesnt change that.

Agreed BV. This could be a little bit of smoke and mirror to try and deflect attention from where it is warranted.

The NO 1 pick must be relishing his future with us at the moment

Agree its an embarassing distraction - the brouhaha over the pp is this board's Tampa.

They actually went for the Tampon to stem the leaks, but got the Tampa and are now trying to fathom wedge politics

I reckon the board are hoping that the AFL take pity on us, that they will take half a priority pick (the one taken off us in '02) and another half (the one that we feel we should have got this year) and do the math :)

This year i've gone from Silver AFL Membership to Full Membership (don't worry, i've got Carlton Club Support & have a social club membership also).

The upgrade to Full membership cost me an extra $200 or so. This was 7 weeks ago.

Yesterday, i receieved a letter in the mail in regards to a $10 admisinistration fee or something..........i ripped up the letter before getting a chance to read the rest of it.

They expect me to pay $10 extra? ......................@#$%&! off!!!!!

You charge me $4 for a cold hot dog!!!!
You charge me $5 for water!!!!!
You expect me to pay almost $300 a year for AFL membership yet you continually screw this game into the ground.
And................more importantly...........you continue to ruin and destroy my club.........the very same club who set up the AFL and the game itself which has just earnt you over $700million in TV rights!

So i put the ripped up letter in an envelope and sent it back attention to Mr. Demetriou and included a photo copy of my new Melbourne Victory Membership!

Next year, i'm just buying a full Carlton membership.

What would you be wanting water at the footy for?

Mr. Demetrispew's usual response to such letters is as follows and I quote:

"If you don't like the AFL Membership Package do not renew - the competition will go on without you."

This is how highly valued and esteemed Andrew Demetrispew values AFL Members.

I'm sure the Melbourne Victory will welcome you with open arms - at least their colours are Navy Blue.
